Health insurance questions

I need some help regarding health insurance for senior citizens, and would appreciate if I can get some information.

I'd like to insure my parents (father's age is 60 and has gone through heart bypass 7 years back, mother is 57 with no history). I need help to decide between SyndArogya and Oriental Happy Family floater plan. For now, I have discovered that SyndArogya does not require medical test, and waiting period of pre existing disease is 3 years. Oriental requires a medical test, and waiting period is 4 years. I don't know what other differences exist between the two. Can anyone help?

I read somewhere that if a senior citizen has gone through heart, kidney, or brain surgery, no ins company accepts their proposal, and if they do accept, they reject it at the time of claim under some excuse. Is this true?

1) When it comes to insurance I believe that PSU companies are better. Since you are already late, I suggest you decide on it very quickly.

2) Check if these policy have free cancellation policy. Some companies offer 15-30 days cancellation offer where you can request o cancel your policy. If any policy have this feature, try it first and see what do they offer.

3) Private companies do offer lucrative terms like higher room charges and shorter exclusion of certain diseases which could be helpful since your parents are around 60 years. Oriental offer 4 year exclusion of pre-existing disease while Star Health offers only 2 years which could be highly beneficial.

4) Against it with certain new private insurance companies you migh have trouble with claim settlement.
