Forgot to update this thread, last year I finally bought health insurance online from HDFC, quite a simple process and premium wasn't much either.

Seriously doubt that. But in any case, majority of the government departments have health insurance.

No need to declare them dependent.
Buy a family floater scheme which covers all the mentioned members irrespective of their job.

Rs. 3653 a year (paid in three interest free installments) for Rs. 300,000 cover which includes usual benefits like pre and post hospitalization and coverage for Ayurvedic and Homeopathic treatment of upto 20k.
I know the cover isn't much, but it is supposed to rise with time.
