Help required on Spiti - August 2016

Hum Hum Hain...!
Hey guys!

Did a quick dash through Spiti last year on my 200 Ns and since Lahaul Valley was still secluded off the world, has to go via Reckong and come back.

Now the pulsar had been traded for a 2015 Royal Enfield Standard 500 and the Spiti bug is biting again. The only catch being 8 days on hand and first week of August.

Need your advice upon the same considering my consistent and fast paced riding style and ability to endure the saddle for couple of hours at a stretch. Last ride to spiti was completed in 5 days flat and the route remained as below:

1. Delhi - Kalpa
2. Kalpa - Tabo
3 Tabo - Kaza - Last point reachable - Tabo
4. Tabo - Rampur
5. Rampur - Delhi

The tentative plan for this ride is below:

0. Delhi - Panchkula (or beyond considering I leave Delhi in the evening after work)
1. Panchkula - Nako
2. Nako - Battal
3. Battal - Manali
4. Manali
5. Manali/Kasol
6. Ride back to Delhi

Please let me know if the plan seems feasible and if it's over ambitious. If so, one day can be taken off at Manali and the rest of the 2 remaining days can be adjusted. Also, I'm no sightseen person and wouldn't mind skipping the monastery visits.

Thanks in advance.

Do the below and it will be more enjoyable and relaxing IMO

0. Delhi - Panchkula (or beyond considering I leave Delhi in the evening after work)
1. Panchkula - Sarahan
2. Sarhana - Chitkul - Kalpa - Nako
3. Nako - Tabo - Kaza
4. Kaza - Ki - Kibber (and others) - Chandrataal
5. Chandrataal - Manali
6. Manali - Kasol
7. Ride back to Delhi

Keep a day as buffer due to the season & terrain.

The above looks nice and promising, however, I can skip chitkul and sarahan as I've already been there. This way, I save 2 days. Also, this would be majorly for the sake of riding and chilling out in manali/kasol for a couple of days.

So do you think I should stick to my initial plan? Also, if someone can tell me if I can find a camp or something at chandrataal, I would love to spend a night there rather than batal, which would, otherwise be just a halt.

Your original plan seems okay too, except you'll be riding all day long during your days in Lahaul & Spiti.

A Bcmtian named Jamaica runs camp on banks of Chandrataal. PM him for further queries as he resides at Kaza.

0. Delhi - Panchkula (or beyond considering I leave Delhi in the evening after work)
1. Panchkula - Nako Would be really tough.Started from PKL at 6 and reached Peo at 6 which means you have some 100 kms more to cover and that too on not that good road plus monsoons.Oh yes and a 17km diversion from tapri to chooling too.So we are looking at possible 16+ hours ride.
2. Nako - Battal : Again very ambitious.but you can try.you will atleast reach Losar
3. Battal - Manali : Bade aaram se.I did Losar to manali in a day and that too after completing chandartaal.
4. Manali
5. Manali/Kasol
6. Ride back to Delhi

So what i suggest is :
1 . Panchkula - peo
2 - Peo - Tabo or beyond (Dhankar or Kaza maybe)
3 - Dhandkar/kaza to losar
4 - Losar - manali
5- manali-kasol
6- back

This answers my questions to a great extent. Even I thought PKL-nako would be over ambitious.
