WHO ALL INDIANS? I am an Indian and have never taken altitude for granted, And I very well understand what Ladakh is all about, and so do many members in this forum, who again are all Indians.
Isn't that a very broad statement, that too in a thread more concerned about altitude?.

Please elaborate more so that I can make people understand what is AMS in simple words.
Only then they can move any where on hills without fear of AMS.

Not a very politically correct statement there. "ALL INDIANS?" :-k

I have been to Ladakh and if it matters, I have also trekked all the way to the height of Khardang-La and even beyond (rather commuting in a comfortable SUV) . Sherpas who trekked with me appreciated my preparation and felt I didn't struggle with altitude at all. Just because I was prepared.

And I am not of an esoteric nationality. I am a native Indian.

More than anything else, it is your blanket statement that has ruffled mine and probably many other's feathers.

Plenty of foreigners have also died in Ladakh due to AMS. Generally people prepare better while traveling abroad or go through travel companies which manage most of the things. However while traveling within one’s own country, people tend to be more causal and plans also get made in a jiff, without much planning or thinking.
