Hi friends ,
This thread is about the newly launched Honda City eHEV launched last week , was really privileged as I could launch it in my home town Kollam @ Muthoot Honda . Was fortunate to be part of the launch special thanks to Mr Vinayan(Sales head) & GM Muthoot Honda. Haven't test driven the car yet as the tax of Hybrid is being processed . Now talking about the car it looks as same as the existing Honda City except for minor cosmetic updates on the front and rear bumper , it also gets a Lip spoiler and new front grill which makes it different from the ICE ( Internal combustion engine ) new Gen Honda City.
Mechanically its totally different with a same displacement engine , a bit under powered but taking advantage of two motors one that helps charging the battery and other rotating the wheels ( giving power to the front wheels ) with a total output of 123 bhp , and 253 nm of torque . So as seen and understood from different videos and personally after just starting and moving the car with in the yard I can't tell more about its drivability , one thing is for sure its something new where anxiety of using an pure electric can be discarded as the engine powers the battery and making it the most efficient petrol sedan in the segment . Will keep on updating the post as soon as I drive the car . Posting pics of the Launch session .
Thank you

Good evening friends ,
Today I got a chance to test drive the new honda eHev ( hybrid ) . Truly amazing ..
when it came to my home their was pinpoint silence and the Ev noise which the car produces to remind pedestrians and animals sounded like a space ship arriving near . The fit and quality has improved a lot from my 4th Gen facelift city Zx Cvt 2017 . Honda sense / ADAS , doesn't feel intuitive . But it’s useful in tight situations , giving an alert to the driver . Breaking has improved like anything . The average what the car gives is amazing . Feels sensible for some one who clocks lots of Kilometers in the odo. A shift from 5 th gen to new eHEV dosent make sense . Attaching some pics

Hai friends ,
I was about to sell of my existing cars to get the city hybrid , existing cars include honda city Zx Cvt 2017 , Ignis AGS 2017, both clocked 68k kms in 5 years . Had closely driven in total of 1,35,000 km . Now the maths started . In 2017 I spent around 23 lakhs on buying both the cars and when I felt getting an eHev makes sense . Cause am spending close to 24 lakhs on the road and my travel demands more economy . Started with my maths . Driving both the existing cars for one lakh thirty five thousand km giving an average of 15kmpl together and replacing both cars for a single eHev with an average of 20kmpl will help getting back 55-70k INR a year compared to my existing cost of running with both the cars . As I have to shell another 9-10 lakh again for buying honda eHev even after selling both my cars which are mechanically and aesthetically excellent . It’s allways better for me to get an electric which will make sense . But Range anxiety and drivability makes me confused .

so who can go for an EHev -
Petrol heads with an average of less than 12 kmpl can go ahead with honda eHev provided they have more than 30k kms running a year . Hope this thought might help friends in this forum who are planning to buy Honda eHev ( Hybrid) a brilliant car .

Thank you
