Hello every one ,
Thought of starting a new thread on my new ride , 6th car to our family replacing our 2006 old Honda Civic which had run more than 100 thousand kms on its odo . Had been keenly watching and reviewing each and every car and was patiently awaiting for Honda Civic lounge coming year . Had been patient since 2015 when the new model Honda Civic was officially lounged but my patience was lost as their was a drop in prices due to GST which tempted me for an SUV search for replacing my civic . Civic was our family ride. And occasionally my solo ride mate . Every month it would conver a distance of more than 1k kms on its oddo at times less than that which means a periodic service a year . My pocket rocket was been updated with an AGS Ignis which made me to fall in love with automatic and their by civic started to get held up inside the garage for longer duration as I never wanted to ride a manual since I started Of with automatic . With my busy schedule and km that I run daily my economics went in for an automaticity petrol SUV . Started with x1 fell in love but the service expenses bothered me a lot . Went for Tiguan loved it but for the price point I felt it was over priced . Then I started with my love towards sedan sepcifically skoda Octavia , test drove it but the diesel clatter made me think against it and they dint have an automatic for petrol for test drive . I went ahead with reviews but maintance and pathetic service by skoda made me think a lot . Had sleepless night , mean while civic started to become a head ache as I dint get the resale value as intended . My car was well maintained and had every service record but the buyers coated very less price . That again made me think that going for a premium car would become a pain on my ass . The money we actually spend for a car with respect to depreciation made my economics come to a stage that any thing above 12 lakhs is dead investment on a car . But I actually wanted to have all the lastest goodies including touch screen nav , leather seats good and refined Electricals and maintainable car . This made me rethink on the new honda city automatic zx cvt variant the top most of the city . Got a good quote for my 11 year old Honda Civic ( pre worshiped) with more than a lakh km which made me jump into a conclusion ending on my Honda city Zx CVT . Now selection of the colour was a problem and different suggestions came from all the near ones including my service advisor Mr Arun Peninsular Honda Tvm . So at the end opted for Modern Steel Metalic . Test drive was given by Muthoot honda , kollam and sales Guy Mr Vinayan a cool guy helped me with my test drive and decision making but unfortunately they dint have the colour of my choice . Suddenly a news came suggestive of price increase due to hike by 10% in GST . I wanted the car before the end of august or the bare before 10 th of sept . Started to enquire about the colour of choice at different showroom and the car was available at Perfect honda . The sales rep Mrs Jesna was really helpful and gave me good offers on my car . And she helped me with my new car on time . Hope the pics would tell te story . With pics of my civic and my Phoenix

Hello fellas ,
My Ride has clocked more than 700km on odo , the ride was bumpy initially reduced air on my existing Tyers to normal 32 psi from 42 psi . Even after reducing tyre pressure the ride and stability of the car was lil twisty . I first thought since I have been driving my civic I felt so. But then with respect to OE alloy with 6j width and 16 inch profile and Bridgestone ecopia 185/55/16 seemed very shody with respect to the tyre size . Had sleepless night in search for a rectification of the same which ended up in upgrading my existing shoes of the car to a new one . Now the question was to upgrade Tyers alone or upagrade alloys too . If upgrading alloys can't I go for 17 inch . Then started with search for a good alloy , I wanted to have a unique style which sutes the car well . Hypersilver was the first choice , then came gunmetal, black and all the odd colours but ended up with 17 inch machined hyper black G-max alloys and Hankook vertus evo 215/45/17 . Have done arround 200km on new shoes and the ride felt more stable and planted on the road . Let the pics tell rest of the story .
Upsizing done on HONDA CITY ZX CVT 2017 from 185/55/16 to 215/45/17

How much did each tyre and alloy cost? Did you get any benefit by selling your old tyres and alloys?
There may be some Honda City owner who may be interested to have the alloy and tyre. Did you check?

Only hitch of buying alloys outside is -when we experience unwanted event; getting a replacement alloy is a challenge. This I am sharing from my own experience.

Hi Deepam ,

What u said about OE alloys is completely true , but i do change OE ALLOYS if possible the same day of delivery as my car is my personality statement . To me my car is something which matters a lot . One tyre costed me 8000INR and one alloy 9500INR . They gave me 35k for OE alloy and the tyre whcih was 185/55/16 and can only be used in city as city comes with this undersized Tyers on market even Baleno comes with 195/55/16 Tyers even other counter parts . I was keen to go for 16 inches but my car accessory guy who is my close friend said to go for 17 inches which won't hamper much on comfort and went for 215/45/ 17 Tyers .
