Hello dear mates ,
I hope all of you doing great and enjoying yourself at home / work at home / stressed at home / relaxing at home : COVID 19
The virus just hit all our lives like a havoc making all our day today work miserable . The worst part being not to go out for our day to day chores, making most of us to work at home . Though as a Doctor( dental specialist ) the most prone to Covid arround 95% as we work inside the mouth, we had to eventually shut down our clinics , and even the college where I had to work . So their was no go other than to sit at home idle till April 14 th. After that we had to resume with our practice as patients were piling up and calling us as they had to address their dental issue . Jumped out of the house started again with my drives 120km a day stretch again both to my college where I teach and to hospital where I work . Mean while I kept both my cars idle , dint even bother to wash at first as I too became lazy. One day my pocket rocket ignis dint crank up exactly on 14 th april , had to call ASC , they came and jump start the car told me battery is about to die as I dint move it , though I started it once in 3 days . Being 2and half or more years old with 41 k and more in the odo how could the battery die was my question . The same day I found leak from my Honda city battery which too was 2and half years and more than 40k kms ints odo . Just before Covid did the 40k servcie of my ignis on feb last but city failed for the service as it was lock down . Did the service today at 40360 km . Changed oil , oil filter , pollen filter and CVT transmission oil . Looted my pocket with 7800 ₹ . But after changing transmission oil driving has gone to some other level , feels really smooth . Attaching pics .

Hello friends ,
Hope this Covid season have turned our selfs to be a better person than before . Last day the new 5th gen honda city got launched , the outer and interior looks in the pic felt really good . The Asc People Muthoot honda , Kollam invites me to their yard before it’s longe when their test drive cars arrive to the centre . I was super excited to see the car . Had a look inside out , felt a little blunt on the exterior as the sharp margins on the facelift 2017 fourth gen honda city was completely changed to a blunt finish, but was contemplated with new 9 array led head light , interior felt bit more spacious and even the engine sound was crisp than the fourth gen . Was amazed to see remote start and was exited to see the G force meter and digital tft instrument cluster . The fit and finish to felt much better than the ongoing model . Asked about the price but they dint have any idea as the car wasn’t lounged and invited me for the lounge with Covid protocol as only a few were invited . I couldn’t make up for the lounge and today afternoon the sales manager Mr Vinayan from Muthoot honda, Kollam , Kerala called me up for the test drive . I went to the showroom , he invited me inside and the showroom staff were very courteous and strictly followed the Covid 19 guide lines . After filling up the form they handed over the key of the all new honda city Zx 2020 ( fifth gen ) . The start stop button have been moved to right side than the left on the old gen . Started the car felt crisp . Rolled it out from the showroom . The suspension set up felt better , NVH levels were high considering the old gen . Now coming on to the gizmos the instrument cluster and positioning of the dash board was neat and clean with maximum visibility as the old gem . No audible sounds from the plastics but on closer watch the finish wasn’t par to older gen city ( fourth gen ) . The car what I own is a 2017 city Zx cvt ( top end ) and the one am driving was the 5th gen 2020 honda city Zx cvt Top end . I could really relate both cars . My car had run more than 42 k km in its odo . Moving the car in slow speed, the car was floating like a petal on the road , but while accelerating the punch was missing . I could really feel the engine wining up to get pushed . The older gen cvt was much better . They said that the rubber band effect has been reduced but I could feel it while revving it hard at an rpm above 2k . The lane watch camera was a good add on but the clarity of viewing it on the screen was like viewing the camera of a low end Chinese phone . They could have given a better HD display for the price point . The rear view mirror of the new city isn’t frame less as in older gen Zx cvt , when viewing through it , I felt a really cramped rear end . The head rest at the back wasn’t adjustable as in older gent Zx cvt . Overall I felt honda did a lot of things to improve on the quality but somewhere they have missed the slot for the real City enthusiast who have driven older gen ones to have their liking . Even the price of new Zx cvt 5 th gen was only 10k pricier than the 4 th gen Zx cvt . Might be cost cutting what they have done is really evident with maximising on improvement . When comparing Zx cvt 5 th gen vs 4 the gen Zx cvt - missing features are
1) Lane watch camera
2) Remote engine start
3) Digital instrument cluster with all the gizmos like the g force
4) 3 rd head rest at the rear
5) Hill start assist
6) Vehicle stability programme
7) TPMS ( deflation warning )
7) Honda connect, think that can be taken as an accessory from Honda dealership .
Similarities
Wheel base , tyre size and inches .
What was expected in the pic
Could have improved on fit and finish
Even the paddle shift quality wasn’t par to the older gen .
these are my personal thoughts
Verdict
A nice car to move your body and keep on rolling.
Pics would tell rest of the story

Hey friends ,
I know it’s been very long since I have updated on my Phoenix ( Honda city Zx Cvt 2017 ) . The car has clocked more than 47k kms on its odo and on its second set of shoes ( Bridgestone potenza 215/45/17 ) . Average of the car has increased after its 40k km service and is now consistent with an average of 14.9- 15.1 kmpl in both city and highway rides . The interesting thing I noticed after crossing the logged km is that when we down shift on normal d mode with the paddle shifters with out shifting it to s - mode ( sports mode ) the car behaves giving us an adrenaline rush . Loved it while touching triple digit speeds which made me remember the old me in my old civic 2006 manual .

Hello fellas ,
Its been a while since I have posted on my phoenix ( Honda City zx cvt 2017 ). Today done with 60 k service today . Changed engine oil and oil filter , changed break pads for the first time , they all were astonished that it lasted for 60 k km and changed transmission oil . Did break cleaning inspection of air filter as its K& N filter ( OE type ) ,all these were done in an hours time . As Usual Peninsular honda Trivandrum has done a fabulous work and returned my vehicle on time . Total cost came to around 9500 rupees .

Hello friends ,
It’s been a long time since I have posted on my Phoenix ( Honda city Zx Cvt 2017) , have done more than 67k on its odo . The second set of tyers 215/45/17 had run 30k Kms . The ride was allways been conscious as I was on low profile tyers due to 17 inch 8j alloys . It has taken up few dents on both front rims which was been rotated , had no air leak nor any major concern as the dent was minimal . After the dent on the wheels I was really conscious while riding on bad roads . Last day I swapped my alloys and wheels to a new set of 16 inch 7j alloys from BBS , and changed tyers to 205/50/16 Hankook ventus . The ride now feels really comfortable. The priority from looks to usage has made me choose the 16inch , as ride comfort matters more on this rough patches . I still feel I should have gone for new 17 inch but my brain went over my heart as usage was my prime priority . The pics would tell the Story .
