Hotels in Kanatal/ Dhanolti

Leh'd and how!
Hi guys.. I might be headed towards Kanatal this weekend. I'm looking for a decent accommodation in that region. Since its a weekend (2D/1N) trip to get some fresh air outside Delhi, I'm not really looking for a budget accommodation but not too expensive either. I will actually prefer a small place, something like a boutique hotel or an off the road resort.

The Terraces in Kanatal seemed like the perfect property but the tariff is upwards of 15,000. Are there better options in that region that anyone might be aware of?

How about a hotel review ?
I stayed at this place called "The Forest Palace". I'll post a detailed review over the weekend but in a nutshell, its an okay place with good views. The hotel is actually built like a hotel so there's no feel to it. The staff is courteous but unskilled. Food is average. I'd rather suggest the GMVN Tip n Top for its location and cottage style accommodation.

Time to revive the thread...

I have been planning a family trip (myself+wife+2 kids 4 years and 8 months old) to Dhanolti/Dhanaulti during mid October for 2 days in self driven Santro. Checked few accommodation options. GMVN property (Dhanaulti Heights) is reviewed by many as overpriced and not so good in terms of rooms etc. (though location is excellent) and Dhanaulti Heights new block which is new construction but much expensive @ 5000/- a day. Another option i find is Log Huts run by Forest Department. Has anyone stayed there? Any reviews? Or are there any other good options available? Safety and hygiene is priority.

For Dhanaulti I would never recommend any of the famous properties
As their locations are in between the market area and there's no Himalaya view from there

Only the hotels which are located at mussourie end of Dhanaulti have clear Himalayan views and of the valley below
