I did almost the same route on my return on bike several years ago on my way back from Leh. After Adilabad the roads are terrible almost all the till Jhansi and beyond. Nevertheless, here and there good patches are there. Delhi Manali road was good. You can skip Shimla, unless you are keen Shimla.

The bad stretches of road would be the same even today I suppose because of the North-South Corridor issues. There are stretches between Jhansi and Agra are so bad sometimes the so called road just disappears, we have to find our way out. Well by that time one would be experienced to find the way out.

I took Yamuna Express way, but the fog issues are deadly. You can take the normal road which is more lively. I personally felt Yamuna Express Way is just too boring.

Anyway, pasand apni apni... as the saying goes.

Hello Khagesh,
Thank you for response...
I too heard of bad patches between adilabad & jhansi but was not sure about current condition.
Shimla is just for an option while returing as i do not know any other good options nearby manali.. my keen intrest is in snowfall and a good relaxing nature..

will try to skip Yamuna express.

regards,
Varun

You can try Rothang Pass for snow which is about 50kms from Manali towards Leh. Drive to Rothang is bit of an adventure too. Its just a suggestion though.

For Hyderabad to nagpur:
Hyderabad-Adilabad: excellent 4 lane highway.

Adilabad-hinganghat: 4 lane construction going on but they have oppened some sections of the 4 lane so easily doable and they are some bad stretche here and there.

Hinganghat-Nagpur: again excellent 4 lane highway.

Nagpur - bhopal: I’m suggesting you a new route and It is,
Nagpur-Sausar-chhindwara-pipariya-Hoshangabad- obedullagunj - Bhopal .- This consisting of very good 4 lane highway and excellent 2 lane highway, so no worries here.

Bhopal- jhansi : Bhopal- vidisha-Rahatgarh-
Khurai- Malthone- Jhansi:
Again excellent smooth 2lane highway all the way from bhopal till jhansi.

Jhansi - Gwalior : Good pothole free 2 or 4 ( sometimes) lane highway.

Gwalior- Delhi : Excellent 4 lane highway till agra and then onwards till Delhi Fast yamuna expressway.

New delhi - Chandigarh: excellent 6 lane smooth highway.

Chandigarh- Manali : Zirakpur - Rupnagar : excellent 4 lane highway

Rupnagar - mandi : 4 lane construction going on but easily doable.

Mandi - manali : smooth 2 lane highway

And please tell your experience after completing your trip because I would traveling to delhi from Hyderabad in first week of January.

Hi friends, I am planning to travel to Bhopal fro Hyderabad through Nagpur,Betul, Itarsi, Hoshangabad. Till last year the road was fine barring some work between Adilabad to Nagpur.
Will be grateful, if anyone could share the current road condition, as it is rainy season, so latest update would be useful

I have traveled through nagpur-betul- hoshangabad- bhopal... But betul to Bhopal was really avoidable road. I am again planning to go from nagpur to Bhopal and this time I plan to take nagpur - chhindwara - pipariya- bareilly- route bypassing hoshangabad... Has anyone experienced this route? Would love to hear more about it
