Hey Guyz,

Need Help.... i own P200 n like every1 i wanted to change ma Stock 35w Headlamp, But knew nothin abt changin coil r anythng, Thot changin the bulb to a higher watts will do n bot Philips 60/55w Paid 600 bucks(was i scammed), after installing it was weaker than the 35w Damn!

How does a stator plate generate engine timing? Can u pls throw some light on this? AFAIK the timing is generated by CDI, the stator is like a trigger that supplies power to the CDI. Do u mean the power from AVY 200 coil is well enough to blow off the Pulsar CDI?

It's purely my perception. Your comments and suggestions will be invaluable
What happens when the timing gets screwed? will the bike not start or there will be a lose in power/pickup, etc?

Avenger 200's stator plate generates completely different engine timing, hence wasn't recommended in Pulsars. Not sure if the same is the case with later release of Pulsar 200.

Further, when I disconnected my stock R/R there was tremendous amount of flux to my H4 55/60w philips premium bulb. This was glowing to its maximum capacity. So, I think the existing stock coil has enough power to run a 55/60 bulb including the other bulbs found on the meter and the tail lamp. All I require is a stable R/R that can handle and supply heavy current. I'll have to find a R/R that supports atleast 100 watts AC and build a bridge with my existing stock R/R. Do let me know if anyone is aware of such R/R? NO17
On the first hand i admit my ignorance of any of these discussions.

All i know for NO_17 is the same thing has struck me now.am also shuttling between 55/60 & 35/35.i blew a couple of 35/35, my odometer bulbs and parking dash bulb were too blown out of question by removing the R/R unit from my P180(2003 model) which seems similar to tat is shown by NO_17 in his pic posted.
the current from the stator drives 55/60 good but its W/o the R/R, so am pretty much worried about the battery and other electricals.

can someone please suggest a stable R/R for me??

hi,i am a pulsar 180 UG3 owner from singapore...currently using NB+ on my pulsar...also have some auxiliary lighting installed...
currently whenever i switch to passing light or high beam, there will a short lag time
wondering if changing to the avenger 200 stator coil + rectifier will help with better charging and also the brightness of my headlight bulb...
avenger 180 stator coil is pretty hard to source in singapore...

Avenger 180 coil is not available in my city {Indore} Should I go for coil rewinding and Ape rr unit to install 55/60 bulb? Mine is pulsar 150 dtsi 2005 model. I'm also thinking of installing Avenger 220 headlight unit.

Thanks

Hi @ll!
I have a Pulsar 150 DTSI UG 4.5 of year 2010. Recently i fixed a Phillips blue vision 55/60 watt halogen replacing the stock 35/35 watt. Light output has improved but battery is getting discharged too fast if i keep the bike engine running idle for 10 - 15 seconds. There is a low battery indicator in LCD console, it is blinking . Again if i rev it up, say bike is running then blinking of low battery indicator stops after some time. Please help me out
Today i bought a avy 180 stator plate, but the connector does not match with stock.

Im stuck with my new head light upgrade. Maybe the rectifier of P220 could help as p220 also uses 9A battery to power its 60W HL. Please suggest. My battery is draining like hell but amazingly HL intensity is not getting affected.

HelP, Please help.

Ur bike's coil is meant to support only 35W by stock, putting anything beyond that it will drain the battery due to insufficient charging. U need to rewind the coil with a higher gauge wire say atleast 19G with all poles and put a APE RR, u'll be fine for even for a 100W but at the expense of ur reflector as it cant withstand the heat of a 100W.

Ur coil is weak to support higher rated bulbs and the stock RR wont pump anything more than 4A which is not sufficient for 55/60W halogen. Being its a DC bike, it does not require much wire mods.

P220 RR wont help u bz its a 3 phase one and urs is a single phase one. Return the Avy coil as its AC lighting.

Thanks sujit for clarifying. I was totally confused as the local mechanic could not provide any solution for this. Certainly i will take steps mentioned by you. I will buy a new 150 coil and rewind it as the stock one will be as backup with me. They will not take back the avy coil.
Any way thanks once again for response.
