Info on Stay and Army camps in Ladakh

Hi All,


I'm planning for a bike ride to Ladakh in September 1st Week.

I want to know following... As I couldn't find these anywhere on the forum.

1. I want to do Amritsar to Banihal or Ramban in one day via Jammu. Is it possible? I ride a NS200. I heard there are timings to cross Chenani tunnel?

2. Are stay options available in Banihal or Ramban. Is it safe to stay at these places?

3. I want to know where the army camps or hospitals are situated in entire ladakh. On Manali - Leh, Pangong - Leh And also on Srinagar - Leh highways.

Information would be of much help.

2. Small guest houses and JKTDC Guest House.

3. They are located pretty much all over Ladakh, around major villages and cities eg. Drass, Kargil, Hunder, Lukung, Pang, Sarchu etc..

Do you know anything about the portable oxygen cylinders like OXY99? Are they really helpful? or any one who used them here?

Portable oxygen cylinders are helpful. However, the really small ones are all but useless, since they have few seconds worth of oxygen. Still, they are better than nothing.
