Hi. Planning on a trip to Shillong. Will be availing LTC. Need suggestions on where to stay and things to do. Will be travelling from Delhi with wife and daughter for around 4-5 nights. Intention is to stay in one place and take it easy. Would it be ok to go weather wise?
Any other destination suggestions for availing LTC ?
Is self drive from Guwahati/Shillong a good idea or should I hire a taxi?

BCMTian :

Don’t go for self drive, more so in this season.

Go on Public Transport only.


Interestingly though, monsoon is also the best time to visit Meghalaya....

Meghalaya is perfect now

Just avoid self drive
Shillong or sohra make the base.


Go at your own risk.
Keep Checking weather also.

Alternatively if Shillong is difficult, was thinking of leh, ladakh. Would khardungla and pangaong so, tso moriri roads be open and how would be the weather

It is much colder but manageable with layers of clothes.

All circuits are open in Ladakh.
You have to apply for the permit to visit at these places.
You can also try Umlingla.

It is better to get on Taxi bill to get LTC.
Boarding Pass for flight needed for LTC claim.
