Don't know if you started riding or not, but if not this might inspire you.
My father started riding post-retirement that is after the age of 60yrs. And he immediately found freedom with it. He enjoyed riding and even convinced my mother who was afraid of riding to get behind him. They even met with an accident some yrs later but that didn't deter him from riding. He nowadays is a bit reluctant to ride but he is 76yrs now.
So as others said if your heart says it wants then go for it, but surely you need to learn to ride it safely to make a peace with your mind. By the way, I started riding around the age of 29 yrs when i could afford to purchase my own bike.
