Hi...I am planning to visit Suru valley this year in june end....so need the ph numbers of JKDTC hotels in kargil for advance booking....can u pls tell me the booking procedures??

Updated Details of J&K Tourist Bungalow.
I have recently made a trip to Leh and just got time to update the details. In our one night halt at Kargil, we have stayed in the J&K Tourist bungalow near hospital.
Note - There are two J&K Tourist Bungalows in Kargil, one is at Bus Station (I Guess) and the other one (the old one) is neat Hospital.
To book rooms in tourist bungalow, you have to call their office and make advance booking. No payment required at the time of booking.

The office is usually busy in the afternoons, so call him at 11:00 am in the morning if you want to get a good response
Regarding the rooms -
Though we have made a booking, there was nothing to confirm the same. We just approached the tourist bungalow at night (12:00 midnight) and talked to the care taker over there, informed him about our booking status. Though he did not check anything to confirm the booking, he just showed us the rooms.
The rooms were pretty good and irrespective of the room size, he charged us 500rs per room, be it on the ground floor or the 1st floor (please see the attached pics). Rooms have attached bathroom and Geyser facilities (they do work).
Since, we had to continue our trip to Leh, we started off in the morning at 8 and couldn't explore much in Leh.
One who is looking for cheap accommodation in Kargil, J&K Tourist bungalow is the best option due to the cheap cost and proper maintained rooms.

Kindly confirm whether kargil dak bungalow is open to tourists. Recently i came to know that it has been allotted to ladakh autonomous council. However, the dak bungalows at drass and mulbekh are still open for tourists.

The First floor has been rented out to some PSU for its office however the rooms at the Ground floor are available at a very affordable price that is Rs 150, this includes room with Common Bathroom and Running Hot Water.
