Made one lot in two 2 liter jars, three days ago. Have been tasting one jar daily:grin:. I think it will mature in two or three days. Then I will make around 15L using 1.5kg of carrots left over, so that it is perfectly brewed for Holi.

Time to bump up this thread for all BCMTians! :)

Holi is the festival to try this recipe! :)
Yeah. Good Idea.

Wow. Now this is what I call a performance !!!!!

Can we use a plastic jar if we dont have a glass jar?
No. You have to have glass or ceramic container. Enameled would also do. But no plastics.

Sachin, how do you make them ? Please share the recipe. Do you use Moong Daal / or a mix of Moong / Urad Daal / Some rice or something else ?

In punjab we call them "Bhalle". Is it same or different ?

and how do you consume them ? Squeeze out the liquid and throw them in yogurt or some sweet chutney ?

Do you squeeze them out, season with spices and fill your "Gol Gappe" with them ?

Gulloo Sir,
These are BHALLE dipped in salted kaanji... and we consume them as it is... no squeezing... or yoghurt or chutney/saunth. Just take couple of vade/bhalle in a bowl with some kaanji, and enjoy! :)

Some vade/bhalle are made extra (always ) and they are consumed with dahi, chutney, saunth & spices... after squeezing out the water (not kaanji paani).
And yes, these ones can also be used to stuff up the golgappas! :)

Some pics of Dahi-Bhalle we had few minutes back... :)

Sirji,
I don't think that anyone in my family knows even a bit about "oil temperature"!

For recipe, I'll ask my wifey (MacroLady, a BCMTian)... let's see if she manages to find some time for us during these superhectic days of festivity and exams in her school.
