Kang La Chen Restaurant, Leh

There are things which never change and there are things you never want to see change. Kang La Chen Restaurant is one such place, which I for one, wouldn’t have wanted to change. And while interiors have changed a bit and the old scenery of Mustang Valley has been replaced with that of Potala Palace, food remains as good as ever.

Located towards the end of Leh Main Market, Kang La Chen is a Tibetan Restaurant I have visited in almost each and every one of my trips to Ladakh and has savored the food each time. This time around I had Veg Momos (served with hot veg soup), Coffee and Egg Thukpa and loved each of them.

Sadly they didn’t had cheese momos this year, which I love the most, but nonetheless, I enjoyed eating at a place where I had eaten consistently for 2005, 2006 and 2007.

We paid around 270 bucks for egg thukpa, veg fried rice and half plate of mutton momos, if I remember it correctly. No photo of the outside of the restaurant, it is located on the first floor, towards the end of market. There is a huge banner outside, mentioning its name.
