Hi All,

I am planning a family trip to Karnataka. Mixed group from age 60 to 6 years. Budget moderate. Total days = 10-12 days. Here is my itinerary:
  1. Bangalore local sightseeing (? Days)
  2. Mysore (? Days)
  3. Bandipur (Day trip from Mysore or 1 night stay?)
  4. Coorg (? Days)
  5. Udupi (? Days)
  6. Murudeshwar
  7. Jog falls (Day trip from Murudeshwar or 1 night stay?)
  8. Netrani Island (Day trip from Murudeshwar or 1 night stay?)
  9. Return to Karwar / Udupi / Mangalore to catch train to Delhi
Any suggestions on:
  1. Any nearby points that should be replaced with current points?
  2. Sights MUST visiting?
  3. No. of days / nights to spend?
  4. Places to stay?
  5. Food places to try?
  6. Road conditions update?
Thanks and lot,
Gaurav

Banglore - 2days
Bangalore -mysore -bandipur back to mysore-2days.

From mysore u can do coorg - belur -halebidu- shravanbelgoda-jogfalls-2 /3days

From jog falls you can do murdeshwar-udupi-mangalore coastal karnataka- 2days

Mangalore to delhi

You can visit all the places by hiring car even ktdc orgnises package tours from bangalore /mysore with staying options.

If you don't want to hire car ksrtc have very good network & connectivity from every city.

Plenty of budget hotels in bangalore /mysore/mangalore.

Mangalore would be the ideal place for departure than karwar or Udupi. Also there are private buses that run from Blore- Mysore-Mangalore just in case you dont like govt operated buses. Wishing you Happy Holidays in advance.

Hi

I would suggest you to do the Trip in reverse order

  • Start from Karwar.
  • From there head over to Gokarna. Spend a day on the beach and also take blessings of lord Shiva.
  • Further can visit Yana rocks, Unchalli falls.
  • Further if you have more time, visit Magod falls, Sathodi falls, Dandeli is a great place for Jungle excursion and river rafting and many more activities.
  • Next stop would be Jog falls, Murudeshwar. On the way if time permits, You can also visit the Idagunji Maha Ganapati temple.
The above itenary can be easily done in 5 days. If you are short on time, you can skip some. But if you spend time here, you wont regret skipping Bandipur / Ooty this time and put it for next time. My suggestion is either have more no of days for the tour as you can enjoy thoroughly in every region you visit. In the given time, You can enjoy more in the coastal Karnataka & Western ghats.

From here on you can visit Udupi. Here visit the Udupi Krishna temple, Kaup beach, St Mary's island, Malpe beach (about 2 days).

From here, Head over to Mysore via Madikeri and Kushalnagar (Coorg) where you can visit Talacauvery, Baghamandala, Tibetian monastery at Kushalnagar. In Mysore visit the Mysore palace and Chamundi hills, Ranganathittu bird sanctuary etc. (2 days)

Last visit Bangalore.
