Thanks Dinesh! I will PM you Riyaz's coordinates. He is a good guy and took good care of us. Be very specific and explicit to him about what all arrangements in food / tents / sleeping bags/ travelling etc you need so that he can plan better..

Phew....awesome pictures...the air looks so clean.

Hopefully one day.
Thanks! Sooner the better... Already many trekking companies have started loads of batches to this trek and will spoil all the serenity of this place in couple of years...

Thanks to the OP for this wonderful thread, great pictures and all trek details. We used information from here and the same Guide Riyaz Pakhtoon (of Srinagar) to do this trek in July-2014. Posting brief details of our trek as a "July-2014 update" for this trek.

Did this trek with my friend Amar Shah starting from Sonamarg (J&K) on 26th July 2014. Brief Summary:

Trek Start: Sonamarg (Kashmir) 26th July 2014
Trek End: Naranag (Kashmir) 1st August 2014

Day-1: Sonamarg Sindh River Camp
Day-2: Sonamarg Camp to Nichnai
Day-3: Nichnai - Vishansar
Day-4: Vishansar - Kishansar - Gadsar
Day-5: Gadsar - Satsar
Day-6: Satsar-Gangabal-Trundkhul
Day-7 Trundkhul - Naranag

In all, it was about 45 Hrs of trek (for me); covering an estimated distance of about 75 KMs. The trails were mostly in the altitude range of 3000M to 4200M (10000 to 14999 feet). Two Passes above alt 4000M.

A somewhat difficult part (for me) was the 2 KMs of boulder-hopping before climbing the Zach Pass; when I made the mistake of taking the upper route rather than the lower level Mule Track involving an easier but longer climb.

My Pics on Flickr:

1. Highlights (22) Pics

2. Full set (138) Pics

My Blog Page on this trek (with details of Guide used etc.)

Thanks, hiambuj! Are you connected to me on FB? Will consider posting a TL here on BCMT; if worthy and kind of original TL.

Somehow, India-Mike was the first travel forum I was stumbled upon, and so there is still some loyalty lying over there. Though I hardly post anywhere these days.

There are so many young Indian travelers and awesome photographers (example - the likes of kshil) that they cannot be beaten for originality or classy photographs. Good to see this happening so well.

Even this thread OP has posted awesome pics!

Hi Prajakt, Thanks for remembering me. As I grow older I remember less and less! :) ... So can't now recall where our trails crossed before. (btw: By OP, I meant Original Poster)

Again awesome pics! Thanks for sharing. Your pics and posts lead us to this trek!
