Khau Gali (Law Garden) Ahmedabdad

Khau Gali as the name suggests its a hub of eateries in the city at a well known place i.e. Law garden.

On my first ever visit to the city I went to this place and found out hell lot of options to munch at this lovely place . This place had all the options varying from delicacies of Gujju land to Pizza to Pav Bhaji with not to forget the famous Asharfi Kulfi .

Interestengly there were 2 stalls promoting Punjabi food displaying Tandoori Food available here. The best thing I had there was Tawa Pulao from Shankar a small 'Thela' but it was really awesome.

Another thing to be noticed is that this place not only has small shops but renowned joints like Honest and Choice restaurant have their outlets which suggests the popularity of the place in the town. It used to be the only place earlier where once could find roadside food.

Its a must visit place when in Ahmedabad!

When did you visit this place? Because few years back Municipal Corporation demolished entire Khau Galli. Ofcourse you shall still find some 'thelas' there but its glory in the past was entirely different

I was there last week and not just few thelas but there was one pucca shop and other shops which were not movable but though on roadside.

If that's so, I need to visit it again... Pretty delicious food at very reasonable prices.

BTW was the pucca shop on the right side or left side? On the compound wall of law garden or the opposite side?

It was on my RHS when I entered in Khau Gali.. the opposite lane of Asharfi Kulfi

Next time when you visit Ahmedabad, make a point to visit Manek Chowk, Nr. Gandhi Road, Its even better than Khau Galli moreover it stays open till late night. Some of the delicacies that can be found there are truly innovative & very heavy as well

Yeah I got to know from my office colleagues about it but did not have much time to go there. Infact I tried vada pav from Jai bhavani outlet on CG Road which was really great. Infact one of the best vada pav I had in my life till now. And there was one more restaurant I am not sure whether you know about this one or not.. Tomato's.. Wat an ambience they have. I was overwhelmed by their interior and ofcourse the food served. Never expected that kinda place from A'bad.

Tomatoes is favourite with youngsters. Its located in the backside of one of the building located on C. G. Road, Nr. GLS Management College. This restaurant has always been different. I've been there once but as they serve Non Veg food as well, I never visited it again.

My sole motive to visit that place was as they serve non veg

After the above discussion, it seems that I would need to curb the urge to take the SP Ring Road while crossing Ahemdabad and would have to venture in to spend one full day to savour food from these places.
