What? Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam Hotel

Where? Chaukori, Kuamon, Uttarakhand

Why? Like most KMVN hotels, its located superbly to
allow the occupants to view the majestic
Panchachulli peaks and the Pindari Glacier even
from a watchtower. It has got a spawling lawn and
the food is good too!

Really? You bet!

Now thats a great view, this is what I like about the state run guest houses, usually they are located at the most scenic place.

More: As you exit from the hotel gate, turn right and a little further down the road you will see a dirt track going up on the left side (see photo). This leads to a musk deer breeding farm. Worth a look see.

Couldn't agree more. And they always have a garden and a decent parking area. The Parking matters a LOT to me!

KMVN Chaukori was one of the very good places we stayed in the whole Kumaon trip. The cottages are excellent and cosy enough. Even though the choices for food was limited, the preparation was excellent. Alu Parathas and Rajma was just yummy.

Geysers were there and so hot water wasnt a problem.

Views from the guest house were just excellent. Infact most of my pictures from Chaukori are taken from guest house itself.

All in all a very good place to stay.
