KTM-RC twins launched

Okay guys!

I went to the showroom just now and I am very much inclined towards booking it, the RC200.
As you all know, the booking amount is 30k but, there is a charge of Rs. 4,000/- if you cancel the booking.

I need you guys' views before I can go ahead and book it tomorrow?

If I would be you and if i would not have any exigency, I would not buy from the first lot out of production...I would wait for 6-7 months till the next lot comes out with the intial hiccups fixed :)

No initial hickups are expected as its not a new motorcycle per se. Its the existing Duke 200, plus the bells & whistles!

Any news if Yamaha is going to do something in this segment ?

Anyway, the price of RC390 is inviting....

Yeah, they tweaked the engine a bit to get more rev friendly gear ratio to live up with the race competition DNA...why I am bit skeptical is, I heard a lot about the quality issues of D390...so I would prefer the wait nd watch stand...but yes, if your heart says to go for it right now...please go for it....I am sure it's a great machine...by the way how was the feeling/quality/fitting of the fairings and other extra plastics that were missing in D200/390 ?

Can you point me to any link where it is mentioned that the engine's have been tweaked? Because all I have read about is just external tweaks, nothing in the engine.

The bike has just arrived and they have not put it up for display so I just could get a glimpse of it, nothing in detail.
I am going again tomorrow, after its put up for display :)

Engine has not at all tweaked, however there might be tweaking in the ECU map to increase the top end. It is a track oriented machine.

I read that in some forum only...not sure about the authenticity....need to ride it to know the difference...go for a test ride, if you have already ridden a D200, you can feel the difference...heard RC will be more punchy with shorter gear ratio...but again all discussions and guess works only as very few really ridden it till now...so go for the test ride and let us know how you felt :)
