Kumbhalgarh - for a short vacation

Hello Folks,

Need some advise on Kumbhalgarh.

We will be starting our ride from Vadodara on 15th June by around 11 in the night.

We wish to cover following..

1. Morning Aarti/ prayer at Nathdawara temple.

2. Visit to Kumbhalgarh fort

3. Night safari in the forest (this is sort of must to for us)

4. We would like to stay at a place which is in the forest (if any such resorts are available) or at a resort which is the closest to forest.

We will have a self drive Innova from Vadodara.

Any comments on routes and road conditions will be highly appreciated.

3. Try bera if you're interested in safari. It's just 80 km from kumbhalgarh. Very high probability of Leopard sighting and hospitality of baljeet singh will make-up for everything else.
Kumbhalgarh jungle safari has nothing to offer. Actually hotels in kumbhalgarh refer to bera for safari.
4. Kumbha Bagh is nice place to stay. It's somewhat off to fort on way to parshuram cave but scenery, view is just amazing. Kumbhalgarh safari camp is also nice option.

If driving, drive to desuri ghats will be another option to try and Ranakpur on this road. I just love this road after monsoon.

Kumbhalgarh looks beautiful during/after monsoon.

Thanks for the information. Actually our resort has been booked, before I could read your revert. We have booked wild retreat for our stay.

Are desuri and ranakapur enroute destinations?

Let’s assume if we don’t get any chance to go on a safari.. than is there anyway we can do some rides to surrounding forest during day or night?

You can go from Kumbhalgarh to Ranakpur then Desuri and come back to Kumbhalgarh. Follow this Route.

While going to Ranakpur from Kumbhalgarh, ask people for short route and not road that goes till Sayra. This short route passes through hills and have dense jungle on side. But please be informed that, this road has very steep gradient, narrow and very tight bends at certain places. It offers great view.
