Lab or GSD or Doberman - Hot Climate

@ Akshay, Aamein: Yes there is visible difference. If this is the short coat version, the one that came to my home yesterday too was a short coat.

I have a street dog and have always adopted street dogs barring one occasion, it was a female GSD and it passed in 2-3 years.

Aren't female dogs more intelligent than their male counter-parts. I think so. Males are mostly dumb & bite whereas females would bark & scare the shit out of people.

During last one year I've saved 4 puppies (3 from one while 1 from another dog). One died while other three are thriving happily. 2 live on streets near my house while 1 is at my factory.

Maybe females are as per your perspective but the problems is that sooner or later it would have puppies and I can't keep them all while my parents wouldn't let me give them to someone else Thus I've zeroed on a male puppy only.

I have kept two females and they are yet to be in a contact with a male dog.
Its on you. What can females do post copulation? They got to bear the brunt and unlike humans, they can't scream -- "main tumhare bacchhee ki ma banne wali hoon"

Dear Dheeraj, i think your info about Bull Mastiff is some what not true, as they are very dificult to handle, i remember my friend use to have it. During day time they use to keep him open and if somebody use to come he was next to impossible to handle him specially by his mother when no other member was home. Dalmations are good but somehow you dont see them often.
great danes are useless they are good to take for a walk and making people turning their heads.

Bull Mastiff is very affectionate. goes well with kids and family. only problem is that they are lil bit heavy. they love to jump on us to show affection..they are not aggressive if well trained.. no need to chain them all the time and they are not that tough to train..... my frined owns 2 and they dont bite anything .... only prob is tht they jump on him to show their affection, which could be a problem

You need to have some space at home.one has to take proper care. deworming , vaccine , and no need to over feed them

not a good thing.nature will take it course.better get them to mate with a male of your choice( isn't that what parents are supposed to do?)

@ All: Thanks for your wonderful replies guys. I really appreciate your inputs.

I've been checking online reviews of the breeds you people have suggested. Mostly I've used WIKI & Animal Planet Website for the research. In most of the breeds I've found that often owner feels something which is not a normal trait from that particular breed. Moreover my foundings were confirmed after I read in many articles that while breed decides general traits most of the times behaviour & health varies greatly due to many factors like parents, grooming, location etc.

I've seen few aggressive Labs and some very calm dobermans as well. So ultimate call shall be taken only after I see both parents of the puppy. I think I should visit it atleast 2-3 times before finalizing.

What all things should I check in breeder, parents & puppy? Is it necessary to check some medical/vaccination records before I buy it? Moreover is there some breed specific tests required before I buy it?

Please do not skip vaccinations. All this natural cure mumbo jumbo is fine, but remember if your unvaccinated dog gets rabies, entire family can get affected. Baba and tantrik cure looks good on talk shows, in real life stick to medical care
