komodo. osmand with the preloaded osm india map will work, this is becasue the osm map is already preloaded in your phone. try it out with your data connectivity swithched off.
Thanks a lot mate! Tried it with the data switched off and it works!

I'm surprised that Ladakh has been so extensively mapped.

Do we have GPS track to Marsmik La form Pangong through Pobrang or can yo point to one if it exists? All I see are stories of people climbing it, a GPS track would help clarify the path. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Thanveer. I know you'd have something about GPS tracks. Went through yr "Changthang : The Wilderness Chronicles" thoroughly, great read! You took a different track, I think. Will check out your linky. I think the last team that went there were bullet riders somewhere around September, 2013, don't know of any 4 wheeler crew that did it around that time.

Searching or a friend who wanted to do it on a Fortuner in July/ August.

There is only one track. At the start of the climb the alignment keeps changing due to landslide etc,.(loose rock at start). Once you go up there is one main track, and there are sections like more plains. You can choose any track based on your comfort level.
This track on OSM matches quite a bit with my personal GPS track. Infact I recently corrected the OSM track based on my GPX tracks and in a week from now you will see my track
