Can foreigners go to Pensi La and Padum?

How can a foreigner overcome the seven-day limit for each permit? For example, a foreigner may want to go to Nubra for more than seven days?

No permit is needed for Suru and Zanskar Valley.

Forget foreigners, not even Indians are allowed to spend more than 7 days in a sector. One has to leave that area and then come back in.

Can a foreigner take separate permits for each area proposed to be visited on separate dates?

Ask the travel agent arranging the permit to get permit arranged for specific sectors on specified dates and pick up the next permit before heading to the new sector.

For getting a permit, does a foreigner have to:

1. Personally got to the DC office

2. Show the original passport at the DC office or

3. Give a photo copy of relevant passport pages to agent/hotel and they will get the permit.

AS mentioned in the article, permit can only be arranged through the travel agent, hence a foreigner has to give them the required documents.
