Hi Yogesh! Thanks a ton for creating such a useful and informative forum. Needed one advise on our planned road trip starting 2nd May 2015.
Our road trip is from 2nd May to 9th May with the following itinerary.

5/1/2015 Leh-Shanti stupa-Leh Palace
5/2/2015 Leh-Magnetic Hill-Sangam-Pathar sahib-Hall of fame
5/3/2015 Leh-Nubra-Hundar sandunes-Tirith camp
5/4/2015 Deskit-Turtuk-Leh
5/5/2015 Leh-Pangong camp stay
5/6/2015 Pangong-more plains/pang/upshi camp stay
5/7/2015 more plains/pang/upshi- tsokar - tsomoriri camp stay
5/8/2015 tsomoriri-Thiksey-Shey-leh
5/9/2015 Leh-Stok palace-Hemis gompa
5/10/2015 checkout & departure

As informed by the tour operator with whom we have booked the cab, bike, food and stay, we are informed that there are no places to stay near Tso Moriri before June. This includes places like Goose Homestay (Tso Moriri Lake) and Mentok Guest House (Tso Moriri, Korzok) and other tents which are closer to the lake.

Guys, please suggest if you have more information on the available accomodation in these 10 days at tso moriri or not.
If not, then what do you suggest should be the best plan B for overnight stay to keep per day distance travelled to a minimum.

Hello,
This is our first trip to leh and we decide to go on avenger 200 me and my friend,we plan to go via this route
delhi-jammu-srinagar-kargil-lamaryu-leh-pangong tso-leh-tso mori-leh-jispa-manali-delhi.So is this safe to go with pillion on this route?and secondly how many days are enough for above trip and lastly if we want to go hanle...then how manys days require for this?if any suggestion for us plz tell us.

Jul 31 - fri - travel
Aug 1 - sat - reach Jammu
Aug 2 - sun - Jammu to Srinagar
Aug 3 - mon - Srinagar to Kargil
Aug 4 - tue - Kargil to Leh
Aug 5 - wed - Leh (Permits, sightseeing)
Aug 6 - thur - Leh - Sumur
Aug 7 - fri - Sumur -Leh
Aug 8 - sat - leh to pangong
Aug 9 - sun - pangong to leh
Aug 10 - mon - Leh to Sarchu
Aug 11 - tue - Sarchu to Keylong
Aug 12 - wed - Keylong to Manali
Aug 13 - thur - Manali to Delhi Bus
Aug 14 - fri - Train from Delhi
Aug 15 - sat - Reach Chennai

1) In the above trip, would petrol cans be necessary?
2) Should we be booking for tents in advance for Pangong?

are you bringing the bikes with you or planning to rent?

If you are bringing your own bikes then you I'll be needing petrol cans for leh to manali trip as next petrol pump is at tandi which is like 400 kms. Cans can be bought in leh only no need to worry for that

And for tents at pangong you need not worry as there are lots of accommodation nearby pangong

Pangong is reserved area so no camping allowed there .villages like man and marek have accommodation
So need to book in advance unless you are quite choosy

Can we book as soon as we reach Leh. Or is there any other option? And what would be the average cost of accommodation?

Hey vikarm
You can book there itself after reaching leh. Then you can bargain and see the hotel services .there are lot of hotels in leh of each and every range
I myself have stayed as low as 300 rs and the room was very nice
So go there and search a little you can finalize it in half n hour time after looking at 2-3 hotels
