Commitment and the very fact that even our army leadership is spineless! Look at what has happened recently, when villagers in Ladakh were building road themselves, the work was stopped because the Chinese objected!

Money is also a problem.India is a third world country, and they cannot afford the equipment chinese has. Budgetry allocation is too less to have machines which can keep the high passes open all year round, and do snow clearing in winters.

Tanveer it is not just about passes, we are talking about the border roads or trails as they should better be referred to as. After all, why does the road around Tangste suddenly ends and gives way to a rocky/sandy trail? It is not like that the road can't be built there, especially ahead of Spangmik.

If any constriction work is happening within the geographical boundary of India (i mean anywhere), do we even need to worry for objection from another Country and stop work?

I looks like China is trying to control the activities in Ladakh region the same way US does with Pakistan.

And the sad reality is, India is complying with each and every one of their orders, in a way acknowledging to the world, that those areas belong to China!

Yogesh, Indian forces should be given supreme powers to act and not be a puppets in the hands of Indian Diplomats specially in the area of higher security zones and boundaries with other neighbouring countries. Also, there should be an increase in flow of money for the equipments purchase, infrastructure building and other necessary requirements to save our country and the people with utmost high level of operations.

Also, with such a big pool of talent, why should we always depend on Russia and other countries for buying equipments. Why can't like china, India can build its own military, navy and air force equipments which would be definitely cheaper than importing them.

Small add on to the guide:

Castle of Basgo:

Basgo lies at a distance of 42 Kms west of Leh. The castle known as Basgo Rabtan Lhartsekhar is situated there on a hill of clay.

The Dharmaraja Jamyang Namgial and Singay Namgial, father and son built it. The Principal image there is that of the so-called' Golden Maitreya,' a sacred copper-gilt image of the Buddha Maitreya, two storey in height. The Dharmaraja Singey Namgail as funerary build it to his father, king Jamyang Namgial. There is also an image of the Buddha Maitreya made of clay three storeys in height, which can be seen at the top of the castle. The ruins of a temple and a stupa build by Rinchen Zangpo, the translator can also be seen.

This is how it looks and is on Leh - Kargil highway

May I visit Ladakh in October 2nd and 3rd week? How will be the weather? Will it be possible to go by road from Srinagar to Leh? Will we be able to visit Nubra valley/Pangong lake?

Please reply.
