Colorful Cascades
--------------------

A seasonal stream cascading down amidst the colors of scarlet blooms in the Suru Valley of Zanskar.

Monsoons brighten up the mountains. Whether it is the green of the foliage or the color of the bloom. Everywhere across the country, colors are clean, bright and fresh.

This picture was taken during a bike ride to Leh several years back. I was driving towards Rangdum Monastery in Zanskar, and stopped to fill my water bottle from this stream. The cascading stream provided an ideal opportunity to take a long exposure shot of smooth silky water. The colors just added to the beauty.

Moonset

Moon sets over the Panchachuli Mountains while the rising sun spreads its glow over the top peaks.

There are a few small villages in Darma Valley. From the village of Dantu, one gets a grand view of the Panchachuli Peaks. The peaks overshadow everything else around the village.

This picture was taken during a bike ride I did in 2019 to Darma valley and spent two night at Dantu Village. On the day I was leaving, the skies cleared up giving me a beautiful view of the peaks. The moon was just setting high in the sky soon to disappear under the bright sunlight.
