Please keep in mind that you need permit for Rohtang (which is issued based on vehicle no), in order to cross Rohtang. So if possible, book the bike in advance and ask the renter to get the permit. Also make sure your friends have time to test them properly before heading to Ladakh. Additionally, they will have to leave their rented motorcycles in Leh and hire a Leh union motorcycle, in order to ride to Nubra Valley and Pangong Tso.

Due to this, you can pretty much rule out the option of taking Chushul route to Tso Moriri, unless you’re planning to then ride back to Leh.

From Nubra Valley you can take the Agham-Shyok or Wari La route to Pangong Tso, instead of coming back to Leh and then heading to Pangong the next day.

You can do Leh – Tso Moriri – Tso Kar – Debring – Sarchu – Tandi, if you have enough fuel for 550 km or buy fuel in black en route.

I had forgotten about the leh bikes to be returned in leh :(
I suppose we can do the latter option of 550 km stretch.. Where would we stop for halt? I an ok skipping pangong and doing tso moriri... Do we need permits for Tso Moriri? Can you advise on filling the permit in rothang and leh? Time and anything possible online?
Also about booking stay in mid july? Can we find it on arrival? 5-7 guys..

After Leh, you can stay at Tso Moriri, then at Sarchu and then ride from there to Manali.

Permit is needed for Tso Moriri.

Rohtang Permit is available online, permit for inner line areas in Ladakh isn't online, you have to get it through a travel agent or go to the permit office in Leh Main Market and get the permit from there, Inner Line Permit.

You should be able to find accommodation on arrival at all the places. Though please keep in mind that you're travelling in monsoon season, so you can face rain and landslides till Baralacha La.

A couple of days will be a good bet, you can spend a day in Tabo and Nako, exploring the places en route from Kaza and then Kalpa is worth spending some time at as well.

After Tandi fuel pump is at Kaza and then at various places in Kinnaur, not as bad as Ladakh though.
