Need recommendation and information about guest houses in LEH that are open in January, planning for this month (January).

Hotel Tso Kar and Sia La are good options, though not exactly budget. Also just make sure to check with them in advance, whether the road in front of them is no dug up or not.

Hi frenz..my parents plan to visit Leh during mid Sept 2015... though they are healthy i still dont want to take chances booking an accommodation from where they ahve to walk a lot to the market area etc...Would appreciate if you would suggest 2-3 budget guest houses/home stay within the market area vicinity ...

Also kindly suggest if they would be able to get shared taxi from Leh to Nubra & Pangong...is it easily available ? They will be there for 7N/8D trip... Thanks

Hi Suresh in case your are planning ur trip from 11-18 sept and plan to share the taxi/travel cost we might get in sync for the same. Taxi cost is really too much. Will be good if 2 couples can hire a taxi together.

I didn't wanted to start new thread for small question so posting my query in this thread.
After years & years of waiting, finally I am all set to explore Leh coming summer. I will be landing in Lef on 24th Apr-17 & will be flying back on 10th May-16. With good amount of time in hand, I want to explore all circuits.
My query is when should I start doing my hotel bookings? I have no clue if I should search & contact hotels now (which I feel bit early) or I can postpone this activity to Feb/Mar-17.

You can easily postpone that to Feb/March. Though please keep in mind, at that time, not all of the hotels will be open.

Hello Pharaoh, I recommend you start with the hotel bookings. Since you are going to Leh, most tourist attracted places, even in Off-season you will find difficulty in finding the best hotel. It is wise to book it online through trusted sites. I had a very bad experience when I was going to Leh, all hotels were booked and the one which I got reserved were not that up to date and very far from the tourist location.
