Dear Harsh,
Many thanks for the prompt replies, even after having gone through a harrowing time in the passes.
If you could send latest information about Baralachala ,it would be very useful.
THANKS again.
The information you have from mr. Hitesh is indeed quite right. Baralacha la is completely covered in snow , and the "snow walls" make it a narrow single lane road, lack of discipline amongst drivers does cause a lot of traffic snarls,

Apart from that 100m streetch the road is tarred and quite smooth on both sides of the pass.

Yesterday, the weather was indeed clear post keylong and manali was completely devoid of clouds. And althougj it kept snowing at baralacha la for about 6 hours we were therE, it was gentle snowing. I do not think that it could close the pass.

Bottom line : the road at baralacha la is not bad,it's narrow. traffic snarls and bad patches will be there for at least a week. Reach there early if crossing from either side. Keep 5-6 hours planned in your itinerary from zingzing bar to sarchu.

and of course this applies only to cars. Bikers zig zag through traffic snarls. Drag their bikes off road on snow and cross dirty patches easily.

For 4 wheelers :There is no parking space available at the la or at suraj tal. So lookout for a part of the road wide enough before hand if you want to stop and click.

And that's another shot of the same place. Before the dozer came along, locals and tourists alike were actually doing this stretch before one tanker finally got stuck late in the night. (they were saying at about 10pm). We turned back at 8 pm when i thought it was too slushy for a 4wd safari with snow chains to make it. however once the dozer cleared it, the situation became managable but only barely.

...
innovas should do fine.

I was trailed by a swift today :). It barely managed to clear the strecth with some nasty jolts underneath. i had kept my tow rope in his car just in case... Thankfully we did not eventually use it.
.....
do u think Zen Desil will do...

Wow, thanks for video update Harsh. They show exactly the kind of condition people can expect to see for at least a week or so.

do u think Zen Desil will do...
See the above and decide for yourself. Having said that, people in hatchbacks are doing it.
