Map: Nubra Valley + Changthang (Ladakh)

Thanks for your suggestion Harsh sir
By the way which way is more scenic route

1) Hanle-Rhongo-Nyoma-Mahe-Sumdo-Tso Moriri

OR

2) Hanle to direct Tso Moriri the off road you have mentioned.

Means which routes has more photogenic.
While going to Hanle you are bound to take the Mahe Nyoma Loma Rhongo route. There is no other way. The Chushul route has been closed since 2012 for civilians.

So when you do Hanle Tsomo Riri direct, it is another route that you will do. I find the latter route much more photogenic than former, especially because of the absolute desolate area it passes by.

Saurabh,

link of Jasdeep's t'log where he took the Hanle - Chumur - Tso Moriri route.

Here is the link of the same route we took. I would suggest not to follow the route taken by Jasdeep. Moreover, the roads have been blasted and levelled all the way till Chumur from Karzok side.

scenic beauty wise the Hanle - Kyun Tso - Chumur is really desolate and pleasing at the same time. Chumur to Karzok due to road construction activity becomes somewhat boring.

The Hanle to Kyun Tso is easier for a biker. For cars you have to take care not to hit underbody. After Kyun Tso, towards Nyoma, there is a mild climb to Thir Zarbo la(5300mts) and then steep descent. That is why I do not advise people to do this route from Nyoma side.
Kyun Tso is at 5100mts

As for route, its marked on openstreetmap. I have myself marked it, and it exists, you do not need to worry. Just follow the existing track. You can download it on your smartphone and see

As for "scenic"
The Kyun Tso route is more scenic and adventrous any day,

Quality in all likelihood will be bad; drivers mostly buy aviation fuel from these places, so it or kerosene might be used for adulteration.

Charges I am not quite sure about, but expect to pay anywhere from 30-60% more for it.
