+1 to what Master ji said. Locals do not need permit, you would. So as long as you get the permit, it should be alright. However, bus will likely return the next morning. So it might now be a good idea to travel in it, if you want to spend time there.

Its very near to a military base and quite beyond Fukche as well so dropped!!

Anyone been to Yerep Tso in Nubra ? Is it even accessible ?

Correction, I don't think I've done this on any of my trips, have been to Nubra only once in 2010, and I dont remember a lake there which was 'off-the-road'. Would love to know where this lake is located in the Nubra valley.

Not sure of Yerep Tso but I have been to a lake called Yarab Tso in Nubra. It is considered as a sacred lake and IIRC it was just before Panamik, just 400 meters off the road.

Yerep Tso falls in Nubra. GMap shows it to be around 130KMs from Leh and then some off road towards left.
Could not find Yarab Tso though.

Leh'd and how!
Yarab Tso is accessible on bikes. Its near Panamik. Its a smallish lake, not the typical Tsos' Ladakh has.

Ooh... my bad. It was Nischarya. 400mts from the road. Its called the "Wishing well" in local speak.
