This is something wonderful and appreciable effort.Though I have small query...Diversion for Tso Moriri after Pang(Rokchen..to be exact) can also doable on bike?

Regards

Yes Crespo. You can take the diversion after Pang on a bike and reach Tso Moriri. However in order to reach the village you will need an inner line permit which is only issued at Leh. So, if you have the permit in advance you can proceed on this route directly before even reaching Leh.

Also, worry about acclimatization. Tso Moriri is almost 4600 mts ASL.

Dear Harsh and Fellow BCMTians,

Thanx for the wonderful effort made for mapping. Kudos to u, since u made it possible for all of us to plan this trip and not missing anything worth visiting. :prayer::prayer:

While planning my maiden trip to Himalayas, It occurred to me to make a consolidated map for all needs for visiting Northen Himalaya Region, which includes entire J&K state & Himachal Pradesh. It is planned to equip the map so as to meet the needs of Drivers and Trekkers Alike. In addition, intention is one stop Solution, instead of browsing everywhere and collecting information in bits and pieces.

To start with I took the map given by u and added / edited few details. The making has just started. Attaching the editing work of 5 hours and releasing as version 1.0. Target is to complete the map by the end of next month.

It is my request for every body, to please comment on the correctness / adequacy of information conveyed by the map in the draft version 1.0. In addition, Please indicate the availability of Petrol Pump at indicated places;will update the draft for and keep releasing newer versions as and when required.

Also give new ideas for additional representations, if any.

With regards

Virendra Singh Choudhary

Virendra, I have copied your above post to a dedicated thread http://www.bcmtouring.com/forum/india-maps-gps-trails-f53/kashmir-ladakh-himachal-map-t58257/ and I have also linked the full resolution map from there. Hope you won't mind, but I cropped out the spare white area as well as saved the image in jpeg to make it faster for members to load. In case that has caused any issue, let me know and I will upload the original version.

Harsh, hope you won't mind this attempt of Virendra to create a bigger map with your original one. And I am seriously hoping that this becomes more of a collective project, where you along with joie de vivre, tsk1979 and rest of the BCMTians will actively contribute and participate, to make it the best map for entire region.

Thanx yogesh! will keep mailing u the updated versions as and when possible.
This is an awesome effort. Great job Virendra. That is some hard work. Will comment in detail next week once I am back.

Currently travelling. :)

Yogesh of course have no issues with this collaborative effort. The more people to work on it. The better it is :)
