Left Sonepat, my town, at 4.30 AM and reached Kund (near Kedarnath) by 4 PM, where due to cloudburst near Tala village and heavy downpour, road was blocked at several places, stayed at village Padali (before Mastura) at Devendra Singh Rana's home stay.
24th May 2016
Road was cleared and I reached Shrichand Negi's Deoriya Guest House at Mastura which was just 3 or 4 kms from Padali village. Stayed there till 27th morning. Did local birding, area is very rich in bird life.
25th May 2016
Road was still blocked at Tala, so could not go to Chopta but drove to Sari village and spent day in birding locally.
26th May 2016
The best day for birding, drove to Chopta watching birds at my familiar hotspots on way, driving on the Makku-bend to Makku road too.
27th May 2016
Left by 8 AM reaching Sonepat by 9 PM spending a couple of hours at Rajaji NP Chilla for birding.
Vehicle : Alto K10 Vxi petrol
Chandrashila peak can be seen from Mastura
Snow peaks towards Kedarnath hills
Grey Bushchats male and female collecting insects to feed their babies
Great Barbet - one of the most beautiful barbets
Grey bushchat
This lady must be working pretty hard and yet cheerful
Common Kestrel
