Tariff: :r:2500 - 3000 Plus taxes and levies.

Contact # 0135-2632682, 2632683

The USP of the hotel is the location in the middle of the Mall road.
But then, many, many hotels are located right on the Mall road too!
Hotel Shiva
Hotel Super
Hotel Himalayan Club
Hotel Drive Inn
Hotel Sparsh
Rama Hotel
Hotel Clarks
Hotel Shilton
Hotel Classic Heights
Valley View Hotel
Hotel Kulri Residency
Hotel Park
Hotel Kasmanda Palace
Hotel Padmini Niwas
Hotel Honeymoon Inn

A long list!

I compiled this list so it might be of use, as most people prefer to stay on or near the Mall road.

The Garhwal Terrace is not worth it.

The people at the reception are indifferent and unhelpful.

When they make online bookings, they do not deduct the applicable taxes.

Over-priced, poorly staffed.
It is not possible to even place a call to their own hotel in Dhanaulty.

The room was located in the basement on the bottom floor. Like a dungeon. It was humid and damp.

The breakfast was unappetising.
The hotel is not well maintained. Like most government-owned places, service is not up to the mark.
This time we really regretted staying with HPTDC and GMVN. I still haven't decided which is worse.
So I'll give top honors of the worst government hotel to Assam Tourism's hotel at the gates of Guwahati railway station.

An Evening On The Mall, Mussoorie

An Evening At The Mall, Mussoorie

After chilling out a bit at the hotel, we venture out to explore the environs of Mussoorie.
Where else, but the 2 km stretch of Mall Road !

This is the Library end of the Mall, where Gandhi Chowk is located.

GARH HIM GANG YAM 145.jpg

Families gather there to enjoy the street scene and the cool breeze.
Bhuttas (maize cobs) and icecreams are popular here.

Colorful stores via to entice young customers.

The holiday spirits and a bit of retail therapy can uplift the mood.

But 300 km from Delhi's glittering malls, is this what we were wanting over here, in this hill retreat?

Musoorie ,Shimla and Nainital are not a place anymore to go for some tranquil hill stay, not at all.
Infact out of these ,Nainital according to me is in a better position mainly because of a huge water body in middle which is surrounded by plain walkable path unlike Shimla and Mussorie ,which may look as if it being a little less crowded.

Other wise all three are same ,catering to the whims of wild crowd who just wants to reach a place called hill station ,having a Karol bagh ambiance.

The name is "Vibhu"
All the easily approachable Hillstations are going into too bad condition. Dont even feel like going there anymore. Too much commercialised. But nicely documented log.
