Mira Road to Jaisalmer by i10 Grand Sportz

Guys, This is my first post here...you could call me an amateur roadie...have done a few road trips from Mumbai to Goa, Mahabaleshwar, Ratlam. I am planning for a trip down to Jaisalmer from Thane on October 7th. It will be max a 6 days tour. Wanted some tips on the same as well how do I break the journey down. Any suggestions and advise would be valuable.Thanks.

You may break your journey at Trimandir, Adalaj (on Ahmedabad - Mehsana highway). It has decent rooms for the given price.

Considering you'll have 2.5-3 days in Jaisalmer I believe you should cover the Fort, Gadisar Lake, Couple of Havelis, spend an evening at Sam Dunes followed by folk dance and dinner and BP 609 / Tanot.

Also if possible stay inside the fort, its a different world in there.

Hum Hum Hain...!
Spending week (including to and fro included) in Jaisalmer is too much. Also considering you would be going there in October, trust me, its scorching hot in there. There are other places that you may add up and make it like a circuit. I recommend that you do it this way:

Day 1: Thane-Mt Abu.
Day 2: Mt Abu-Jaisalmer-Sam. Spend a night at Sam post camel ride and sunset.
Day3: Sam-Tanot-Longewala-Jaisalmer. Leave by 7ish. Carry lots of water and other replenishment and things to eat. Hardly anything available on the route. If possible, carry extra fuel too. If back by late afternoon, spend sometime by the Gadisar lake.
Day4: Explore Jaisalmer for half day including fort, Patwon ki haveli etc and head to Palanpur, Gujarat.
Day 5: Palanpur - Vadodra/Ahemdabad
Day 6: Vadodra/Ahemdabad - Thane
