Mods, I searched few threads before starting this but found no references. Please merge if already exists.

Folks, am planning to move to Oz to explore career opportunities. Am in discussion with y-axis folks to get my PR visa processed and am looking for some advise on how easy or difficulty it would be to search a job at Oz from India and what is the market like for IT guys (Especially IT Infrastructure and data center technologies). Any suggestions/advises are appreciated.

Cheers,
Rajesh

My understanding is that Australia has social programs for immigrants to help find them jobs. Basically, educated people go there and get on government dough until they find job. Australian tax payers foot the bill initially but then win once you get a job and start paying exorbitant taxes.

There are a lot of job cuts in Australia these days. I have friends who are not accepting the AU passport just because coming back would be next to impossible...

I work for infra services for an AU project...

You don't always have to believe Indian babble. If you are on AU passport with OCI, you can always come back. If you really want you can renounce AU citizenship and get your Indian citizenship back.

When there are job cuts, you are back on government dough again.

The problem with most Indians is that they want best of both worlds. They pop up a few kids and then complain that their kids are getting westernized and how they cannot come back now.
