My Journey to Leh

Dear Khagesh Sir,

Glad that you logged in. As they sang,You can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave . Heh heh.

Am reading Bach, will get back to you.

If your English is poor, then I am Hrithik Roshan.

I wonder if Satinderpedia is active nowadays. After the unfortunate demise of Yogesh bhai, the Forum seems to have taken a hit. Sad.

Trek time for Panchkedar I got no clue but will try and find out, I know someone who has done it successfully.

Any updates on Platina? Since the time I have been bothering you with my inane posts, I have developed an itch to buy a 100cc Bajaj motorcycle. Since your Platina engine is now no longer in production, I think I will go ahead and buy its siamese twin, the CT110X, and go to one more Leh trip on it.

Dear Rohit,

Really sorry for the late reply. The frenzied exams time at school bit of ill health and guilt of replying late are the culprits.

Bach? You must have finished by now. Which book? Coming from flying field I thought only this community enjoyed his books. Are you aware of Little Prince by Saint Exupery. Sure you would love this small book.

Tell you what Rohit, when you said you are 'reading'.. a sort of jealous or is that envy.. anyway.. you plan your life so well that you get time to read.. where those happy days.... SOS ABBA?

Yogesh, really we all lost him who brought this community on a very well balanced platform I think and one can understand the impact it could have made on very close associates like Satinderji.

Pnch Kedar, just by nose... Dehradun to Dehradun...-
1. Dehradun - Rishikesh - Neelkanth - Devprayag bath at Ghat
2. Devprayag - Triyugnarayan - Gaurikund
3. lieusurely trek to Kedar night stay ..
4. Kedar trek back drive to Ukimath and Kund
5. 6, and 7 Madhyamaheshwar budhamaheshwar and explore a bit and back to Ransi
8. Ransi Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila Tungnath
9, drive to Sagar may be hangout there explore the local temples so beautiful
10, 11, 12 Rudranath back to Sagar
13. Kalpeshwar and back to Joshimath
14. Joshimath - Garudganga bath - Badrinath
15. Badrnath morning darshan and drive till Srinagar or Devprayag
16. drive to Dehradun

Thats Dehradun to Dehradun plus add a day for rest or explore or something. Nice to travel all that spiritually sitting before the laptop .. lol.
But see the time.. just approximately? Actually from Karnaprayag if driving down I want to take Almora Nainital route drive Kanpur route take those lonely forest roads of Chattisgarh and back home.. say another four to five days to reach home. So nice to type all that..

Do we have that much time, what about the pandemic, .. today's scenario is more than a lakh fresh cases per day... so many questions in mind. Just fingers crossed....

The bike looks really looks good and mileage too is decent for a 115 cc... Never handled a disc brake bike so far but its worthwhile I think especially on those scary inclinations just after a water crossing like I did on my Himalayan trips. Very good bike Rohit. Go ahead. Or is it that you purchased it already? Good compact and powerful I suppose.

Good luck Rohit and take care.

Bye for now, and once again, sorry for my late reply, I mean it.

Best regards,
Khagesh

Dear Khagesh Sir,

Thank you for providing intezaar ka maza! The culprits are hereby sentenced to be hung till death. Ha!

Ah Saint Exupery; was his body found? It was some Lockheed methinks.

I read sir but and you make kids read - that's the legend right there.

To paraphrase Abaa, does your mother know (where the Himalayan Explorer is?)

Whoa sir, that's some research on Panchkedar route. Another late reply and it'd be fair to assume that you'd have completed the trip in the interim.

Seriously sir, let's do it. How about this May? Screw Corona. What say?

Haven't purchased the CT yet but the itch is unbearable. I just love the way it manages to look like a Scrambler (who am I kidding?)

But Yezdi was relaunched yesterday and they did this to me:

Picture1.png

And now I want this, endless supply of petrol, and a road that never ends.

Yeehaaaaaaa !!!

Regards,
Rohit

Dear Rohit,

I am extremely sorry for my late response. Admixture of lame excuses anyway.

First let me wish you a Happy Mahashivaratri...incidentally the topic too is Panch Kedar...Jai Bholenath.

Sait De Exupery; my knowledge was limited to his book 'the Little Prince'; you make me google; he seems to have a real adventurous life, but the possibility of 'suicide' is difficult to digest, most likely shot down.

Virtually I did this Panch Kedar many times. Whenever little time on hand, google earth on phone.

May? I really dont know Rohit. Exams for my students. Corona or no Corona but students need me. Lets see anyway. Its high time resisting the call of hills is overpowering. waiting for bulaawa.....

Bike: Yezdi is, atleast was, good but heavier side plus kmpl is too low. Anyway, you are the best to decide for you know exactly what you expect.

Thought, I must write today at any rate, even if its a short reply, to avoid the guilt.

Take Care Rohit.

Fret not, der aayad, durust aayad . Glad that you were not in Ukraine.

Om Namah Shivaya!!!

Please prepare to pack your bags sir, I will give bulawaa.

Knowing you, you wont need many bags though. A screwdriver, a helmet, and umm a spare tube

Maybe we can plan after exam season gets over, eager to take life lessons from you along the trip.

Dear Rohit,

Just swimming in exam mania.

Something new developed here Rohit. Students want me to take them to Himalayas. Just contemplating to take them to Do Dham, Kedar and Badri with small trek to Vasudhara. Don't know how it goes. Cant take kids seriously.

Lets see. As if the confusion is not enough, two families and teachers want to join the trip. Ufff.

I fear disappointing you with guilt frankly Rohit which certainly not my wish. Where are you stationed at Rohit? What a question to ask. No? Nothing in mind but everything in mind. lol.

Take care Rohit. So much work before I hit bed.

Best regards to you.

Dear Khagesh Sir,

Please stop swimming, exams must be over by now:grin:

I believe kids are more serious than us adults. They can build sand castles without asking whether they are going to be permanent. Can they live in those castles? Will their castles be able to resist the wind that is blowing? They know that within minutes they will disappear. But they are very serious when they are playing. They can even fight for their sand castles or house of cards. They are very serious when they are creating. They are enjoying. And they are not fools, they know that these sand castles are just that and everything is makebelieve.

I wish I could be like them. Please include me in their itinerary.

I am at Gujarat sir. You're most welcome, "kuch din to guzaro Gujarat mein! "

And oh, here's the customary "sorry"for the late reply. Beat that Sir!

Rohit

Dear Khagesh Sir,

In teaching parlance, isn't this called cheating ? Not fair sir, you should have pinged me once before packing your bag(s?).

Anyways, please be quick with the travelogue to ameliorate this grand disappointment.

Hope it was all good and you returned hale and hearty.

How about a teaser image or something, till the time you compile the travelogue?

Once again salute your determination.

Rohit

Dear Rohit,

I naturally expected this from you. Let me explain you something. My post on May 24th: 10th board exams in full swing, uncertainty prevailed, yet asked you where you are stationed, just in case with all the sincerity to make the trip with you. How I could have pinged you without any contact details? Anyway, the uncertainty was such that I myself didn't know if I make the trip or not if so when.

Your reply came on June 4th and I was still on the trip could only read on June 9th after reaching home.

Yet, I admit the guilt still haunts me. May be something more important awaits for us. Who knows.
I wish I could be as dexterous as you in English to express my guilt.

Teach and cheat .. good parlance ... no, in fact we cheat students just teaching all that nonsense written in those textbooks with a pretext of scoring good marks.

This cheat and guilt is necessary for me to come out of my lethargy under the pretext recuperating from the trip and to be frank, I had started to pen down the travelogue with your inspiration(?)... why not.

Just click the signature link that would take you to the teaser.

By the way, may be we could meet at your place with my family... Gujarat.. a long list of things to do...

Best regards Rohit,
Khagesh

Dear Khagesh sir,

Ouch, you almost spanked me. By your words. Heh heh.

Regarding english, you have expressed everything perfectly, while I don't even know the meaning of 'dexterous'.

So true about education today. I think it was the nobel laureate Alexis Carrel who declared that ''every newborn child is a genius, only to be converted into an idiot in school.''

Makes me wonder what I'd have been had I not gone to schooling.

How was your trip sir? Hope all hale and hearty. Can't see anything in the signature....perhaps I need to replace my blackberry now... old 2015 phone still going strong. A bit like you sir.

Awaiting your travelogue. And when are you planning Gujarat trip?

Regards,
Rohit
