@Mandar you are right. There is a pin hole in the intake through which air is sucked which might be making the mixture lean. I had wrapped the entire tube with insulation tape. But still i get popping sound on deceleration.

it looks good. this should work perfect.
is this shokup cover from RE or some other bike?
Also I see that you are using acc cable of RE 350. may be you can shift to B500 wire.

It is fork rubber tube made by RE. I think it comes as an after market fitment made by RE for Electra. will shift to B500 cable. Is there any difference between Bullet 500 and classic 350 accelerator cable? Even still getting popping sound don't know why. Is this because of free flow exhaust.

In the last photo I have noticed a uncovered socket for PAV system, it will allow all the dust in the air box, it may spoil the CARB slide.

Check your the carb slide.

assume i have to open up the top cover of carb and check for any chipping or deformation of the slide right?

No need to open the top cap to inspect the slide. Open the AF pipe and you will see a vertical round slide. you can push it up using your finger.
Check if there are any scratches on it.
For detail inspection you have to remove the top cover.

i removed the carb and checked the slide. yes there are minute scrarches on the slide. I am unable to open the top cover since the screws are stuck. i have to go to some mechanic to open the top cover for further inspection.

The slide seems to be OK but if you notice, there is lots of dust in the carb. Can you share the latest photos of the spark plug. I guess you have put a new plug.

kindly find the attached pic. The insulator is dark coffee colour at a point and rest is white. i had done less than 50km post spark plug change and that too only in city traffic.

This is a clear sign lean mixture mixture.
Have you sealed the AF box properly (I mean the PAV outlet). On the stock setup I have 2 full turns out and it seems perfect.
