After a long time, me and my family decide to take a tour. Last few months is a very busy months for me as i have to work up to 9am to 2am on regular basis.

So we decided that as Saturday is a half working day for me and Sunday is a Holiday, so we as family should go to any place to refresh.

So we decided to go to Gupteswar Cave Temple, Koraput. Planning done few days before, so i booked online ticket from rourkela to koraput , to and fro. In sleeper, cost me Rs.1810 total.

Total Peoples is Adult 3 with 2 kids.

We board our train at 6.10 pm on 30th January 2016 from rourkela station and Reached Koraput at 9.00 am (1 hour late).

I already booked hotel and cab by calling local hotel MM Residency 1 week before the journey.

Already pickup cab reached at station, we go to hotel and and refresh our self. and then take a breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Fooding is great. We order Masala Dosa, Puri Sabji and Tea. Total cost Rs.135.00 for breakfast.

Then we start our journey towards Gupteswar which is 90kms from Koraput. On the way we cross Jeypore town, Baipariguda Town. In Baipariguda , a local hat market is their, where foreigners usually can be seen. This is also last point where we can see army, local police presence, after Baipariguda, hardcore Maoist area, Road up to Baipariguda is excellent, as these areas are in hilly region, maximum roads are Ghat road but with good tarmac quality. But after Baipariguda road condition is worse and even in some areas only boulders are on road.

Then another Ghat road comes, where till now never Tarmac work done as this is a very steep road, so for grip of vehicles, till now proper road is not made and all vehicles going on boulders.

Before Ghat, we have made offering to Local Deity Maa Dalghai, We offered a Branch with leaves and Hibiscus Flower to Maa Dalghai and move forward. Local people take Rs.5 to Rs.10 to provide you branch of trees with leaves and Hibiscus flower.

Then we can see a lot of peoples came to this place for Picnic. After 5 kms , we reached Gupteswar. Total time taken 2 hour and 10 mins to cover 90kms from Koraput to Gupteswar.

Then we kept out Shoes and Chappals at a nearest shop where we buy Prasad to made offering in Gupteswar Temple. Prasad takes Rs.60 per basket including flowers, agarbatti (incense sticks).

Proper Steps made to wards temple, which is situated in middle of a hill. More than 100 steps made with railing. So all people can go towards temple. Inside of Temple Photography is prohibited, but as there is no Govt presence in those area, smart peoples can still take snaps.

Then we goes downwards steps towards Main Shiva Linga.

Small Info about Gupteswar Temple:

There is a river named Kolab flowing here with full of Gorge. here water is always looks like from rainy season. main Shiva Linga is inside a cave.

Shiva Linga is nearly 5feet high and 4 feet width. There is also some other caves , but those are now closed.

Then we visit the local market, do some shopping and visit the nearest river. Do some photo session and take a lunch in nearest hotel. Here Food is Completely Swatik, no use of Masala, Onion, Only Veg Food is available and polythene is banned in this place. Lunch cost us Rs.200 total including driver meal.
