Hi Folks
I am planning to do a bike ride from Jammu to leh, Ladakh, starting from bike mid of May 2023.
My plan is to board the train with my bike, from Vellore to Jammu, and start the ride from Jammu to Leh via Srinagar. I am planning my return journey from Leh to Jammu via Keylong, Killar, and Kishtwar.
Tentative Plan:
16 May Tuesday - boarding train from Vellore
17 May Wednesday - traveling on the train
18 May Thursday - Riding bike from Jammu and reaching Srinagar by evening
19 May Friday - Rest day at Srinagar
20 May Saturday - Leaving Srinagar and reaching Kargil By evening
21 May Sunday - Leaving Kargil and Reaching Leh by Evening.
22 May Monday - Rest day at Leh
23 May Tuesday - leaving Leh to Pangong Tso and reaching back to stay at Upshi
24 May Wednesday - Upshi to Keylong
25 May Thursday - Keylong to Kishtwar
26 May Friday - Rest day at Kishtwar
27 May Saturday - Leaving Kishtwar and reaching Jammu by evening.
28 May Sunday - 00: 10AM (SATURDAY mid-night) train to Chennai
29 May Monday - in the train
30 May Tuesday - Reaching Chennai by train and Riding to Vellore from Chennai.

Please suggest to me the needed modification in the plan on days, routes (ANY ROAD CLOSURE?)and help me finding budget stays ( Rs 500/- per night) at Kargil, Leh, Upshi and Keylong.

Good Luck. Will be a great journey.
If you have a few extra days, see if you can include Zanskar and Nubra valley in the plan. At the minimum ride up to Khardung-La.
Also, too early to say about road closures. You'll get better information as the dates come near.

Thank you so much. Leave permission at work for extra days is a concern. Keeping the plan simple, as I am scared a bit of exploring within the budget plan and with a language barrier, alone.

Plan A

23 May Tuesday - leaving Leh to Pangong Tso and reaching back to stay at Upshi.

Plan B
23:
Reach Nubra Valley. Stay here.

24: Goto Pangong and reach upshi.

You have extra day at Kishtwar.
Instead of going to Kishtwar change it to Manali and reach next day at Jammu.
Plan accordingly as your body needs rest also.

Plan C
You are running in Ladakh which is not recommended at all.
Do it at slow pace.
Have more time at Pangong and Nubra Valley with night stay.
Return via Srinagar route if Manali route is closed

You will get many similar bikers / single persons with whom you can share room at places in Ladakh for budget.

Leaves... Ahh the bane of all of us employed people. :)
As for budget, outside of big cities, shared accommodation and food is simple and cheap. To keep cost low, avoid big tourist places and share tented accomodation in Ladakh.
Fuel is where you'll spend most.

Thank you for your valuable input. Yes, shared accommodation is what I am thinking about to keep the stay within the budget plan.
