Hello,
We are a group of 6 adults and 3 children planning to travel to Leh from May1-3 and then joined by a larger group from 4-7 May.

We will be arriving be from Delhi by flight on May 1.

Please suggest the areas of interest for 3 days.
Also wanted to include camping on one of the days. We have 7, 9 and 12 yo kids with us. So a good clean & safe camp is required.

Kindly help. Thanks.

If you’re interested in camping, a good option would be Uleytokpo. It is lower in altitude than Leh and yet, is a beautiful place to spend some time at. Alternatively, you can head to Hunder in Nubra Valley, once you have acclimatized. It is a beautiful place to camp as well.

Both of these places have camps being run by multiple companies, though in the beginning of May, options will be limited. So it would be a good idea to check in advance.

Apart from Pangong Tso, you will easily find accommodation for less Rs. 1,000 a night. At Pangong Tso too you can get it for less than Rs. 1,000 a night, however, in that case, it wouldn’t have attached toilet.

Cool and is it necessary to prebook any of these accommodations ya it is possible to get them on the go. The places I am visiting r patnitop, sonamarg, kargil/lamayuru, leh, hunder/diskit, turtuk, pangong, tso moriri, tso kar and back to Manali via sacrhu overnight. So is the same applicable for all these places. Would appreciate your advice as am leaving on the 27th of may from Mumbai.

Since you’re traveling in peak tourist season, it would be a good idea to book accommodation for Patnitop, Sonamarg, and Manali. Rest can easily be found on the go. These three places are also the ones, which will cost you the most.
