Need Suggestion which one is better Avenger Street 220 or Classic 350 for reliability & comfort

Hi All,

I am confused which one I have to buy Avenger Street 220 or Classic 350 in terms of reliability and frequent long drives. Budget is not a constraint. I go through various Discussion forums and have below findings.

Classic 350:

Pros:
1. Looks
2. Joy-full Riding
3. 350 CC Hulk on the road. You are Road king.
4. Excellent Resale value.
5. Low maintenance Cost.

Cons:
1. Poor in terms of Reliability. If you have to travel long then you have to learn mechanics and you also
need to take Clutch cables as this problem is very frequent.
2. Oil leakage reported from Engine even just after Delivery.
3. Electrical problems in new bike.
4. Vibration in Handle bar when speed > 60Km/hrs
5. You need to visit mechanic very frequently.

Bajaj Avenger Street 220:

Pros:
1. Reliability 5*. No need to care about anything even if you are on long trips.
2. Looks.
3. Enjoyment of Cruise Bike.

Cons:
1. Poor resale value.
2. Service Cost is high.
3. Poor rear bake.
4. Plastic Body compared to R.E.


So, Guys please help me I am stuck in between these two. My only constraint Bike should be comfortable for frequent Long Drives. Must remain on road for atleast 10 Yrs (I 'm afraid of upgrades).

[MBS] above 2 points is a personal choice, I think TB is better than Classic.

[MBS] this is a pure Myth, This used to be a case with the older bikes. Not with the newer bike.

[MBS] Can you please provide me the example. I have seen many bikes (350 and 500) running flawlessly for many KM.
3. Electrical problems in new bike.
[MBS] This might be one off case. But then electricals can fail in any bike.
4. Vibration in Handle bar when speed > 60Km/hrs
[MBS] If you can't stand vibs then RE is not your cup of tea.
5. You need to visit mechanic very frequently.
[MBS] Again a pure Myth. I usually visit mechanic for hardly twice a year, if I dont have to do any mods on my bike.

You should consider RE TB350 instead of Classic if you are talking about long rides..ride both & decide..I have ridden avenger 220 2013 model & it felt good & unique from other regular bikes..About RE,Nowdays RE has improved a lot & you can safely go for RE product.

On relaibilty front avvy 220 is better than royal enfield . you would spend less on maintining and modifing it. I have been riding it since more then a year without any issue . i had two bulls with me previously.

Thanks IJS, Its great you have experience with both bikes. One more thing Is Avvy Engine smooth even after 5 year is I maintain well.

yes why not if u maintain well and who told u service cost is high for avenger. just regular service is good enough to keep it healthy .
plus if u buy strret version u can easily fit tubeless tyres on it.

In my persona experiance avenger is more reliable and comfortble .
And in royal enfield stable electra has better comfort than classic. And also tb and you also get rear disk on tb.
