Maruti Suzuki third generation Dzire unveiled; launch on May 16

The car will be launched with a 1.2 litre petrol engine and a 1.3 litre diesel powertrain. The new vehicle will also feature AGS (auto gear shift) transmission in both petrol and diesel options. Last fiscal, Dzire came third in the top ten best selling list of passenger vehicles.

Mercedes cuts prices of Made in India models by 7.5 lakh!

Mercedes-Benz India has announced they will be reducing the price of their locally assembled cars and SUVs with immediate effect.

Mercedes-Benz’s nine Made in India models will see a price cut ranging from Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 7.5 lakh.

These models are; CLA, GLA, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLC, GLE, GLS and Mercedes-Maybach S 500.



This is being done to pass on the tax saving that will likely occur after the new GST tax code comes into effect in July. However, in a bid to boost sale before the new tax structure is implemented, Mercedes-Benz will begin offering discount throughout India, with immediate effect.


In a press statement issued by the company, Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “As a customer-centric initiative, we are now passing on the benefits of post-GST pricing of our ‘Made in India’ cars with immediate effect. To ensure complete peace of mind for our customers, we have decided to pass on the GST tax benefits at an earlier stage at our cost. This approach will benefit the customers who want to purchase a locally produced Mercedes-Benz from now on and during the month of June. The impact on the prices on CBU vehicles is yet to be evaluated. ”

As per Mercedes-Benz India, thanks to the new tax regime, their Made in India models will see a price reduction of 2-9%, with the costlier the car, higher being the discount.

Other luxury car companies like BMW, Audi, Jaguar, and Land Rover are expected to come out with a similar price cut on their Made in Models as well.

2018 Maruti Swift – Is It Worth Waiting For?

In a few months time, the new 2018 Maruti Swift will be launched in India.

There will be no change in the engines as they have always performed well. It shall have 1.2-litre petrol K-Series engine and the diesel is a 1.3-litre DDiS engine, under license from Fiat, get AMT options. The new Swift will be lighter by upto 100kgs, hence it will perform better. The car is also expected to have better fuel efficiency due to this.

So, it should come to the market by March-April 2018.

India is fast becoming a hub for supercars and exotics and we have seen quite a few of them in the past. From the super-exclusive Ducati Superleggera motorcycle costing more than Rs 1 crores to Lamborghini Aventador SV and the SV Roadster, we have it all in India.
