I see that my last update was in 2018.
How busy have I been.
OK, so zest is still with me. She got a name.

My son chose the name GT5.

so GT5 it is.

In last 2.5 years, she have done daily kind of rounds from ghaziabad to gurgaon office. Has been very worthy ride. Without this car, I could not continue such long drive almost daily.
Very soon ODO completed 50K then 60K etc. All good.

Had a few bumper hits. Car is SOLID. Bumper plastic is more solid than metal of some cars.

She has done almost 70K now. Less used for 1 year.
Dad has driven her for some time.
AMT oil changed which generally lasts good for 90K km.
Timing belt is not changed yet. Other than than brakes and wiper changed.
Due to low RPM running, EGR did get congested once found in normal checkup.
The glow plugs on MJD 1.3 gave up. have changed once, and went bad again. Will give them a try at Tata once.

Other than that, car has been issue free and I am more than satisfied.
Yes the interior does not small new anymore but thats more to do with usage. Squeaks have come up in some plastics. But no rattle.

1 more. GT5 got new tyres last month. Original bridgstones ran for something above 65K and they were good.

Went for Yoko earth one.

Original size: 185/60/R15
Replacement: 185/65/R15

So the car is 9mm taller now, everything else is same. That on top of the fact that Zest is already very tall car.

I do feel like sitting as high as a brezza. Ride has not impacted a bit. Still can do quick lane shifts or curve roads.
Zest always had bit of firm suspension with kind of long travel. So at speed she feels confident.

And now, due to added GC, I can take craters at ease.

A car with 185-190mm GC with 4 meter size and hardly any overhang and go through anything urban landscape.

AMT in this car was from early days, not the smooth one. That has not changed. Still bit harsh. But very reliable.
AMTs have reported issues from mahindra and maruti. I dont think Tata AMT ever came in news.

I can happily buy any AMT car from TATA.

Profile 60 to 65 will have marginal speed errors and definitely a good upgrade.

Honestly I never relied a Tata car in my life but looks like they improved/upgraded a lot.

IMO the initial AMT's were slightly sluggish and jerky compared to Automatic.

Wish you many happy miles on your GT5.

So on EPE I realized the GT5 can still do 140.
However her sweet spot is around 100
Beyond 110, a humming sound comes from either wheel or axle etc, which I do not like.

Drag can be felt a lot at 120.

Jeet bhai, that humming sound is from wheel bearing, not a good idea to overlook that so please get it replaced.

Nah,
Wheel bearing sounds I know.
Bearing would make sound even at 50. And loud.

This is very less sound and only after 100.
It is resonance of some kind. Like due to wheel. Imbalance. But my tyre wheel is brand new.

And it has been like this forever.

Wheel imbalance will lead to steering bubble, never heard o humming though.

I had similar humming noise which used to come at higher speed and diagnosed with bad wheel bearing so thought of sharing.

Also during research I came to know that usually humming at higher speeds comes from bad wheel bearing or low transmission fluid.

Agree with @AnupamR check your Wheel Bearings.
Accelerate your GT5 to 110-120 and put it in neutral and observe for the sound.
