Ooty Road status, needed updates !

Hi
We are planning a trip by car to Ooty via Coorg/Madikeri and return via Mysore, need to know road status and tolls.
Is there any updates or status ? Pls pour.
My trip is scheduled on 31st Jan’20.

2nd option I have chosen to go Vaishnodevi by train, is it advisable in these dates ??

You can go to Vaisho Devi ji on 31st. As the season is harsh winter, if you are comfortable in such temperatures, then go.
All the route is covered now. No problem if it rains or snow. Can't do any prediction of rain or snow this time now. I can tell 4 days ago only about weather.

Snowfall !
No Guarantee....

Only Western Disturbance can make it happen.
Difficult to predict at this time.

How cam you book tickets ?
It is good rush in trains too.

Only accumulated snow can be at tops.
Or goto Patnitop side of road is open.
You can reach there by taxi only.

Normally, old snow possible if there is no current snowfall.

However this season is getting today heaviest Snowfall on Himalayas.
Coming Sunday also chance of good snowfall on Himalayas.

This season much better chances of Snowfalls to occur every week, if all goes well.

My first option is open then to travel south, Coorg, Ooty, Allepy, Mysore and return then ...
Let’s see what updates u get for roads/highways etc.

My concerns are roads after Mangalore or Coorg and in/around Ooty.

You may go via Honnavar Jog falls Shivmogga-Arsikere-Mysore.
Mysore-Ooty.
You can divert towards Shringeri Dharmasthala Subramanya & then towards Mysore
Basically KA roads are better & safe.
Lot to explore.
