[MENTION=16860]deepam[/MENTION] very good decision sir. The Renault - Nissan Partnership in my view has turned out to be one of the most successful ventures in Indian automobile history. Also Currently atleast in Pune , Mumbai region as far as I know Nissan Terrano is selling like hot cakes, mostly due to changes in design , making it look more stylish, stunning SUV. Also another important fact is, Nissan Terrano has almost eaten into the sales of Mahindra XUV 500, along with its cousin duster, a close friend of mine who is a manager of a Mahindra dealership told, me that a lot of XUV customers who purchased XUV were quite dissatisfied with its performance, the vehicle has turned out to be a major dissappointment in rural markets, its maintenance cost has increased, also being a monocoque suspension body [whole chassis + body jointly fixed] a major stability issue arised, the vehicle though having a good pickup, used to wobble slightly at high speed. I don't know whether this prompted Mahindra & Mahindra to launch W4 having much lesser ground clearance than W6 and W8, and to counter Nissan- Renault led duster and Terrano. Anyways sir a good buy

also that you had done an indepth investigation into the specifics of vehicle and your subsequent reviews have amazed me a lot. And XUV stands no chance in front of cousins Duster & Terrano, even with the might of W4 recently launched,
r rayaru,
Thanks for your comments.
I am surprised to read that Terrano is a hit in Mumbai Pune reason.
Yes XUV 5OO is an overhyped product and has maintenance issues. I also found that the Servicing network of Mahindra is not customer friendly; that way Tata are much better to them.
Yes mechanical of Duster and Terrano is what Indians just seem to love. The suspension and ride quality of these vehicles are unmatched in this category or price segment.
I am due for my second service close to 19k on ODO and happy with its performance.
On highway it is the most fuel efficient and very much sensitive to temperature. With higher temperature [like 40 C] the mileage drops ~ 30-35%. We will not see this change in Innova or XUV 5OO; as the base is a smaller number.

Last month I did a quick trip on the Hyderabad - Pargi - Sedam - Chittapur [Gulbarga Dt] - Gulbarga. What a change in AP border to Gulbarga; there are 2 tolls and it is worth to pay tolls on this route.
In 2008 when I traveled in this route for 60 km I had taken 2 hour 45 minutes. Just covered in ~ 50 minutes. Love the construction.
If traveling by car from Hyderabad to Solapur; I recommend you to take this route. In opposite side I saw Paulo travels Goa - Hyderabad bus both Volvo B9R and their AC Sleeper taking this route instead of NH9.
Details of this Route:
Hyderabad [Mehedipatnam] - Langar Housz - Chevella - Mannagada X road [take left] - travel 19 km to reach Pargi - post bus stand at Pargi take right and continue straight on to Kodangal - reach Rowpalle village near IOC take right to Sedam [straight goes to Yadgir]. After you take right you will be on butter smooth toll road cross Rajashri Cements factory to reach Sedam; before entering you get a left turn for ROB; cross and then again turn left to Malkhed - Gulbarga. You will enter Gulbarga thru' Gulbarga University. As you enter Ring road @ Gulbarga take left and proceed further till you see diversion for Jevargi. Continue towards Jevargi on reach Jevargi after a IOC petrol bunk on left take right towards Bijapur. On reaching take right at ring road to proceed towards Solapur [straight road].

Last week, did a trip to Vemulawada [Shr Raja rajeshwara swamy] and Kondagattu [Sri Anjaneya Swamy] temples and followed the route:
Hyderabad-Siddipet [Toll road 4 lane]; Siddipet - Sircilla- Vemulawada [2-lane, good road] and Vemulawada to Kondagattu' passes thru' villages and some section is really bad for hatch backs or Sedans but over all the road is good.
Return Kondagattu - Karimnagar [2- lane] and Karimnagar to Hyderabad [4-lane road with 2 tolls]. Tolls are located at 64 and 112 km from Hyderabad outer ring road.

The serene around Kondagattu temple is really mesmerizing with green forest cover. There is a TSTDC [Ex- APTDC Haritha hotel] at Kondagattu.
