Can someone shed light on just WHY a Terrano is better than a Duster other than the looks? And I think bad after sales service is also mentioned. But my query is whether there is much difference in the parts and therefore performance?
+++++++++++++++
Naturebuff,
Duster had some issues like AC water leaking inside the cabin and doors rattling. So the Terrano is 120 kg heavier than Duster. In Mechanical default from XL model and up you get ABS.
I am told that changes in Duster have also been made.
if you look at the other mechanical parts are same as Duster.
Servicing perspective; Nissan has to still reach the level of Maruti or Hyundai. In Hyderabad, Nissan is tad better than the Renault workshop. Hyderabad now has got a second Renault dealer / workshop; so things may be better now.
I am not sure whether the second dealer is just a name change.
Overall be it Duster or Terrano; is priced on the higher side. For the comfort and ruggedness while driving;I opine it is worth paying the price.
[We have Excise duty and VAT in India, so cars tend to be costlier].
We all crib of Duster pricing the CAR on higher side.
In NEPAL Petrol Toyota Liva costs Indian Rupees fifteen lacs. What do you say?

OFF the TOPIC:
Last Saturday I drove TATA ZEST Petrol. The pick up is not as good in CITY mode [ECO mode is still verse]. To top with I do not think Petrol would return Fuel Efficiency in city driving conditions above 11 kmpl.
There is one main flaw in ZEST; for the rear seat passengers, the rear windshield comes directly over the head. In absence of Sun film; it makes the journey during summer lot more tiring. Compromised for increased legroom and compact sub 4 m Car.
