Honestly even I am not a big fan of Kia. They have some really good models here and that too in very competitive price but still I don’t like.
That gives me the Chinese feel.

Recently (last week) I did Tyre Rotation, Balancing and Wheel Alignment.
I am now convinced that Bad roads do not screw up the wheel alignment instead uncalibrated machine screw up the alignment and cause wear out of the tyres.
Last 10k km my car has hit big potholes and jumped speed breakers. The toe was hardly disturbed.
So post rotation, balancing and when alignment was measured the toe was really close within limits. I paid for measurement and didn't allow technician to make any changes in settings.
So for last 20k km wheel alignment toe adjustment was not made.
The camber values measured should be correct.
I have driven also on bad roads in last 20k km.

My car key button of 1 remote went Kaput couple of months back. So, I was using the other key.
This key button also went Kaput and already l had started from home and I was away without any access to tools. I was lucky to catch hold of critical part of Rubber and place it back in the slot using paper and use adhesive tapes.
This trick worked and I was able to continue my journey hassle-free.
Immediately I placed order in Amazon for Key cover. I missed to browse in detail. I ordered for 2 sets to replace. This costed INR 279 for each. Then later I found I could have got INR 225 for each. Well that's fine.
To open the key fob covers ; 2 tools needed.

After opening:
After interchanging the PCB to new car cover:
Assembled the 2 and completed the operation.
Before tightening the screws, checked unlock and lock operations.
I think company pushes along with PCB electronic circuits and it costs High.
I am not sure how much it costs.
Time will say about the durability of the cover. Had it been battery, I would have opted to replace at workshop.

I had felt oil film was present and used a Nylon scrub pad. I did not realize that until I had hit the highway early morning. I did not understand what happened to have such a bad windshield and after breaking my head realized the error.
Damage was already done. I was really upset and additionally my wife blasted me. Ordered to ignore and enjoy the drive. As I entered Mysore City in the evening unfortunately I was facing WEST and boy what a nightmare!! Due to the dust collected on the highway Windshield appeared to be Translucent from Transparent
Finally parked car after distance and cleaned the windshield.
Finally did some research and got the location of shop in Hyderabad. Using Cerium oxide powder [paste] to polish the Glass. I am not sure of the CAR SPA's will be able to fix it.
So, last Saturday visited the Shop:

So did that fix the scratches? Nylon scrub pad shouldn't leave scracthes - it's more likely that the nylon substance of the pad rubbed off and formed a layer on the glass. Was it nylon or scotch brite?I had messed up with the Windshield cleaning 2 months back.

Scratches have not yet vanished but driving vision seems to have improved by 40%.
Brush I used is similar to Scotch brite, brand i think is GALA. one surface of the Brush pad caused swirl marks the opposite surface did not create it. As I can recollect the Rear Glass I used the other side of the brush and luckily it did not cause any swirl marks. Costly lesson learnt.
Never ever I will use any other, than Sponge immersed in Diluted Dish wash liquid to wash the windshield.
I suspect in secondary market, the windshield which do not have cracks ; they polish the glass on both sides and then put it on re-sale. I may be wrong.
To remove scratches on both sides Material cost will not be more than INR 400 plus labour.
I concluded that the outside Vendors, can do better job in removing scratch but are focused to entice to change Windshield. I was offered a cost of INR 5.2 k by the Vendor to replace the windshield glass.
I am running short of time, let me make another attempt to get the scratches removed. I plan to source powder and wool pad from Amazon and find out the labor + equipment to do it.
Weekend I took my car for servicing as it crossed 145k Km mark.
Apart from regular decided to do EGR valve cleaning, labour for which was additional INR 2k.
Door settings were done to arrest some noise.
